There are 14 Cats currently in the portal, several being All Conf and All American players. Bobcat Nation is having a pretty awesome discussion on it, whether it’s normal or if there are locker room woes. I remember when Cats trolls said there woud be a mass exodus of Griz players and that we would lose the majority of our studs 🤔

To be fair we don't have many studs . . . and the ones we do have appear to be staying . . . for now.
 
Their secondary is gutted. I don’t even know who’s left besides Caden Dowler. The tough part too is they start school tomorrow and today is the last day of official visits on campus. They’re really throwing themselves behind the 8 ball.

That seems like a lot for a team that just played in the natty.

Do they have a lot of transfers coming in?

By awesome discussion on bcn, I can only presume you mean anyone saying anything even remotely negative about the program gets shutdown immediately, and banded if they persist with such nonsense.
 
I do think it is just part of the portal world. Especially if they think they can make some money in their last years of playing football. But I do think it is funny that just a couple weeks ago some of the Cat fans on here were ready to mark the start of a new Cat dynasty. Now they have lost really good local talent through graduation (Tommy, Grebe, Ortt) and a lot of imported talent. And offensive coordinator and O line coach. Shit has evened out in a blink.
 
So The Griz currently have 7 transferring out and 17 transferring in = net +10.
While the bubz have 14 transferring out and 0 transferring in = net -14.
That’s a difference of 24 players. Huge difference.
Plus they lost two coaches.
Definitely something rotten in bubtown. Sounds like sixx lost the locker room. Obviously something wrong and they know something we don’t.
Didn’t they have a similar collapse the season following their previous greatest team? Forty years ago, after the ‘84 team, I believe they had a losing season the next year, starting the streak.
 
To be honest I'm not too surprised. I have been wondering how teams that make the national championship tend to do with the transfer portal as they don't have as much time to devote to the portal as everyone else does. I have been wondering if our run to the national championship game last year led to us getting the scraps more or less in the portal

Is this the guy who was a high recruit, possibly a 4 star out of HS or something like that, that came from U-dub?
I seem to remember bubz talking him up like the greatest recruit/transfer known to human beings.
Now, I bet those same bubz are bad-mouthing him. Probably saying, “hasta Lonyatta!”

This is exactly right on every point you said
 
I think the Shi##y Kitties may be losing at least some of their kids because there is a real feeling in Boz Angeles that the tank is empty AT, After Tommy, and MSU is going to have to undergo a major rebuild !!! And as Hooked pointed out, NDSU has lost only one player to the portal probably at least in part due to the fact the Bison are a dynasty and the SK's are not, and NDSU has a healthy, little NIL collective. The Bison 🦬 are going to miss two-time national champ and NC Game MVP Cam Miller, but in Fargo, it is truly next man up ( Wentz, Lance, Miller .. ? )

The streak started in '86, garazzilies, not coincidentally Papa Bear Don Read's first year and the first year of WA-GRIZ.

I think this is wishful thinking tbh... not saying there won't be some obvious drop off, but "a real feeling that the tank is empty" is a huge stretch imo
