And speaking of transfers, Justin Green himself transferred from San Diego State to San Diego Mesa Junor College to Thee University of Montana in 2003, 15-17 years before the creation of the transfer portal and he transferred for a reason !!!
And a young head GRIZ HC named Bobby Hauck welcomed him with open arms, Justin and battery mate Lex Hilliard ran over Big Sky Conference defenders as the dynamic backfield duo while together for two years, and Justin went on to play fullback for the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals for 4 years, and he is now starting Year 9 as our RB coach and recruiting coordinator. Keep an eye on Justin--after Coach Hauck leads us to 2 or 3 national championships and hangs up his whistle, I think RB Coach Green just might make a really good

I made the mistake of getting excited this time last year over the possibilities of this year. This year was a bust. UM got smoked by SDSU, who got smoked by NDSU. Bounced in the second round AGAIN... but there was no reason for it other than that horrid defense.
Defense took their lumps no doubt, but their trajectory was positive after the Weber game to the end of the year. Special teams trended the right way as well. Offense regressed and this team never seemed to be able to put together one complete game all season. Coaching decisions were head scratching at times or often to be fair.
Really, there’s a long list as to why this team failed to deliver, I wouldn’t put it squarely on the defense.
SDSU "got smoked" by losing by one score on the final possession on the road against the national champions.
I get that you guys are upset, but you need to really think about the things you say before you say them, or, you know, stop basing your posts on your emotions instead of what actually happened.
I agree with calling out the hyperbole in the above post, but is it safe to say this year was a letdown and that we weren’t competitive with the top tier of the FCS during the 2024 season after doing so in 2023?

I never suggested that wasn't the case in my post, we just don't need people making up nonsense because they need to justify their feelings that we were like the 75th best team in FCS.
SDSU probably would've beaten NDSU had they played those games in Brookings, and I'm fairly confident they could've beaten MSU in Frisco, as well.

The defense did better the second half of the year, but we did "get smoked" by SDSU in Brookings--despite the 35-18 score, two of our TD's came against the Wabbits' 2's and 3's late in the game, the last one from Ah Yat to RacanellI with 4 seconds left. I think it's fair to say our 3-3-5 got exposed again in that game !!!
In the NC game, we saw Bison QB and Game MVP Cam Miller sprint for a 65 TD run against the Shi##y Kitties
!!! The last similar run Cam Miller had was running through us in the 2022 game when he said in the post-game interview NDSU, after looking at us on film, was confident that with all of our movement up front--shifts, stunts, stems, twists and blitzes--if the Bison 
were patient, they would bust several big runs against us. I think they had 4 TD runs in the second half, and our 3-3-5, even with Gubner @ nose, Hill, O'Connell, and Weinell @ LB, got run over !!! ( Please note that Hill, Gubner and O'Connell now make their living playing pro ball.)
The 3-3-5 was developed to stop the late, great Mike Leach's Air Raid Offense with 4 or 5 wide on the field almost the entire game. While NDSU, SDSU, USD, and the SK's sometimes play 4 or 5 wide, they normally do not, so in essence we are taking a knife to a gun fight !!!

The cats don't run a 3-3-5 and NDSU ran the ball down their throat all game long. Maybe they should switch to the 3-3-5
I feel like I addressed this enough weeks ago (including to you), but in the vein of people making things up, I guess I have to do it again.Our first TD was scored when they had 9 of 11 starters in. They were not in "prevent" defense, either. They committed hard to stopping the checkdown to Xavier Harris on that play, and Ah Yat hit them with a fantastic throw over their #1 CB.
That said, yeah, the game wasn't that close. SDSU was good enough to win another championship this year and were the losers of the scheduling cycle to NDSU. My whole point was in contention to SinCity's implication that SDSU was somehow way behind NDSU this year. They weren't.
