Idiot, if a Griz player did the same unsportsmanlike like thing I wouldn't think its funny. It's called class and you don't have any. I bet you support riots and criminals too. You are out of line and stupid. This was disgusting behavior and you are crying like the little bitch you are supporting it. Wow, what a model adult you must be
At least I’m an adult. You’re trying to hard to be woke. Disgusting behavior is calling out a kid while sitting in the basement, behind your keyboard eating twinkies by the dozens. You’re a pro at that

I hate this "If a Griz player did it you would think it was hilarious.", bullshit. A Griz player didn't do it. I don't care what Zuckerberg, or Musk, or any of these other douchebags are telling you....facts still matter.

It's okay to have an opinion on a chat site but not to have an opinion that contradicts a fact.

Example: Here is a valid opinion - Tommy Mellot has absolutely no shot of playing QB in either the CFL or NFL and was not one of the top 6 passers in terms of arm talent in the Big Sky this year.

Here is a valid fact - Tommy Mellot intentionally tipped over a trash can on the opponents sideline and regardless of his motivation or intent it was a loser thing to do.

See the difference?

That's not what happened. He came to a complete stop, then assaulted the trash can revealing his true character while his team was getting theor ass handed to them on the field.

It should have been an unsportsmanlike penalty and they shouldnhave stopped the game and made him clean it up. It was classless and it's who the cats are at their core
Honestly who cares.

Ya but you’re acting pretty childish on the stance you’re taking. Generally if you’re the only one arguing a point and almost everyone else is telling you you’re wrong, then generally you’re wrong. I know admitting it though can be very difficult.

Trashcan Tommy earned all the comments. He was a douche all night running his mouth, hitting our players on the sidelines then acting like we were holding him. Compare him to DiNucci, Trashcan is the 2nd biggest tool we have played against in the chipper

And he's from BUTTE! Don't forget about BUTTE!!!!!
Very good kid point. I once saw a Butte kid try to not be a good kid. A bottle hit him right in the dome. Yeah, I threw it. He thanked me profusely for setting him straight and walked away good kidding all the way down the block.

Wow, now because of one incident with a trashcan we’re running down Butte as well? Like the town doesn’t take enough slings and arrows as it is.

Good lord. Lots of holier-than-thou, cancel-culture, tear-others-down-to-elevate-my-pitiful-self-worth posters here.

To me, his total body of work overshadows a split-second spur-of-the-moment move - which was not only not so egregious, but the characterization I liked best was "a punk-rock move of messing with the opponent a bit." Kind of like "trash" talking - pun intended.

"But, but, but, but how can you possibly condone that action! You can't! So that means that person is a horrible person in every aspect and in every way with no chance of redemption."

"And what of the 10 or 15 seconds of extra work to a poor-humbled-slave worker who didn't want to be there in the first place! I mean, wadded-up tape and empty cups weigh more than you think, you know. It's more than the 12 ounce reps of diet Mountain Dew I drink every day for my workout."

Thats bs. Hitting your players on the side line? And how tf do you hold a qb? Quit with the bs. The kid wanted it so damn bad and was frustrated.

I've been a TM fan for several years now. MT kid, super athlete, humble and pretty darn respectful kid. However, his actions and his mouth at the chipper did not represent the kid I had become a fan of. BUT, we have to remember, he's a ~21 year old kid under a tremendous amount of pressure. Best scat team in decades, undefeated, payton award winner, big sky champs, big sky awards, and everyone expecting him to lead the team to victory and a championship. Heck, they were already planning his statue (ha)! I don't care who you are, that is a TON of pressure for anyone, let alone a kid. I don't condone the behavior but I'm going to cut him some slack. I'm not sad at all that the scats lost. It will shut up most of the insufferable, obnoxious fans.

Go Griz!

He looks and carries himself like an entitled punk. Listen to the post game, his words say it, its not even an opinion. He even started off the thing with correcting a reporter. Punk ass bitch

We will never forget the sideline attack on Ndsus garbage can. True character is revealed in high stress situations and this clown walked the MSU walk when it mattered most.

Mellot earned the name Trashcan Tommy

Don't listen to these dweebazoid jerk stores. What if the person didn't have to clean up the mess because there wasn't a mess to clean up? The janitorial contracting service might've downsized because there wasn't enough work, and the worker might've lost his job. It could've led to all kinds of problems at home. He was just trying to keep a family together. Same principle with his comments to the press. He was trying to motivate NDSU's players by saying the better team lost. They deserved to know the truth. The way I see it, Tommy was looking out for others.
