For all negative Nancy's, Nellie's, and shithead posters. They are going to have an especially difficult time as the GRIZ are starting heat up in the recruiting world. My kids call it 🍳 cookin'. More work to do, but our staff is on IT 💪💪💪💪🔨🔨🔨🙏🙏🙏🙏

It's ok to be negative about how this season went because it was a disaster, but to the people who thought the program was hopelessly screwed moving forward, I don't feel one bit bad for any of them. Like I said after the season, we had no idea how this offseason was gonna go. Now 3 weeks in, we've picked up 2 FCS guys who were starters and highly productive at their previous schools, and 2 FBS guys who at a minimum will provide great depth. Plus our recent high school signees with the WR out of Texas and the behemoth RB out of Connecticut. And there's plenty more work to be done.
 
Agree with both these posts. It wasn't great. Frustrating for everybody (most notably the players and coaches, I know).

Disaster... I don't think so. Some glaring deficiencies led to some bad losses. However, I still had a shit ton of fun with griz nation in WA griz, and we will cherish junior bergen forever. Griz legend. Great dude. His picture will be on the griz tunnel walls forever, and name in the record books. 26 seniors that are all great dudes.

Onward and upward!!

And lets not forget those hogs on the line from Washington.

The pride and tradition of the Montana Grizzlies shall not be entrusted to the timid or the weak. Hope some of the fans take that oath and buck up. I really thought that after the 2022 season that went so badly, and had people crying that sky was falling, was followed up by a trip to the national championship, people would realize that one underperforming year doesn't mean that the next one will be similar. We have made some good offseason moves, and we did NOT deal with a deluge of players running to the portal. The sky is not falling. The Griz will have a better year next year.

You're spot on, we've actually been remarkable from that standpoint of losing guys to the portal. Definitely a few here and there, but nothing crazy.
 
Yes, if 9-5 is a disaster, sign up Eastern, Weber, Idaho State, Sac. State, PSU from the Big Sky plus Western FBS neighbors Wyoming, New Mexico, San Diego State, Utah State, and Utah. Add in Chowda's first year in Reno as well. I can't speak for these teams but it seems reasonable that since they all had losing seasons that 9-5 would sound pretty good to them !!!

While 2024 was not a disaster--9-5 is a pretty good, not great year, but 2024 was clearly a disappointment. In the preseason polls, which are normally the kiss 💋 of death for both college and pro teams, we were supposed to win The Big Sky, coaches and media, and that obviously didn't happen !!! And I think we were ranked as high as # 3 preseason in the national polls, and we were supposed to again challenge for a NC, and that didn't happen !!!

The good news--hopefully, given our disappointing 2024, we shouldn't be the preseason favorite to win The Big Sky nor at the top of preseason national rankings, which would be somewhat similar to our team hearding into 2023, hopefully with even better results in 2025 !!!

The season was not a disaster. A disappointment and not even close to what was expected.
 
Just wait until January 8th Vigen is announced head coach of WSU and the Cats whole team enters the portal.

Amen. Some of these doom scrollers can't even poop without breaking into an ugly cry for 20 minutes. Disgraceful.

I respectfully disagree. While there were a few bright spots with freshman showing promise at a couple positions, to me a five loss season, losing to the cats, and NOT even making the quarterfinal round in the watered down fcs level playoffs is a disaster. UM football should be a title contender every year and we weren’t close this year. I hope 2025 is better.
