Mellott is a STUD

Brave post with the crowd that trolls on egriz. Completely agree, the kids great. Not that passer that DD was but he keeps the offense moving and there is no way the Cats are 15-0 without him. Hope he wins the Payton Award and the NC.

The Shi##y Kitties might win the national championship, but I do think NDSU, their QB Cam Miller, star WR Bryan Lance and the rest of the Bison team will still get off the plane in Dallas-Fort Worth and show up in Frisco, foolishly believing the 9 time FCS champions that have defeated the Shi##y Kitties twice in the last 4 years somehow will still have a shot at winning this game, no matter how delusional that sounds !!!

Why would that dound delusional? This game is a pic em for sure.

I’m biased, but Dave Dickinson’s NC will always be top of shelf because he did it on Marshall’s homefield.
I agree, DD could see the field, elude pass rushers and distribute the ball better than any college QB I've ever seen. The crazy thing is the knock on him according to NFL scouts was that he wasn't big and physical enough to play in the NFL. That was always ridiculous to anyone that ever really watched him because he was one of the toughest most durable playes in the league.

I don't think a team can prepare for how fast he is. You can see it on film but until you see it on the field I don't think it translates. His speed and decision making have essentially created an offense that is impossible to stop, and our coaching staff does a really good job of putting safeties and lbs in impossible positions where they have to choose to cover or go tackle him. Once we got a couple stops yesterday that game was over bc they weren't going to stop us again until we dialed back and started protecting the lead and clock. Tommy is an all time great.

Tommy is a great kid and an all-time great !!! That said, the Shi##y Kitties are very tough, not invincible.

South Dakota's biggest mistake yesterday: winning the toss and deferring to the second half. Had SD taken the opening kickoff and then patiently run the ball down the SK's throat by using their tough RB Theis behind their massive O line, kept the ball for 6-7 minutes, and scored a TD, the Yotes would have had a real shot @ the upset because the Yotes D as the game went on got better and better, as the SK's went three and out, three and out, three and out in the second half !!! ( The SK's only scored 7 pts. In the second half, but the Yotes were the ones playing from behind by then.)

Dave could barely break 5 seconds on a good day in the 4O, unlike Tommy running a 4.3-4.4. But something Dave could do that Tommy cannot: throw the ball accurately for 300-400 yards and 6-7 T D's. If--huge IF--the Bison 🦬 figure this out, make the SK's play from two or more scores from behind, grind MSU's D down by winning TOP, NDSU will have a good shot at winning this game.

This game between the SK's and Bison for the NC should be fun to watch !!!

I could not agree more. I was shocked they deferred.

I’m not sure that changes the outcome, but they get that big run TD to go up 7-0, then maybe the crowd isn’t quite the same factor and who knows what happens.

USD is a great team, but that was a big mistake.
