2025 Transfer Thread/ Portal Offers-- (31) Transfers to UM

I hear the sarcasm, but I do think Tarleton has done a great job moving to the FCS and becoming relevant quickly. It is a program on the rise.
Lol Like I said earlier, facilities don't mean much. Coaches, program success, and future careers other than playing pro ball drive recruiting. For my kid it was getting out of Montana, he liked the coaches, and as I said before, they had a pre-dental/Dental school (remember this was 2009 UConn not current UConn) and facilities had nothing to do with it. Besides, they are an up and coming program and UM is in Neutral, maybe going backwards again. UM is one of the top 25 programs in the FCS, but so is Tarleton. Tarleton has an NIL collective that is established. I am not smack talking UM, just rationalizing why he would go there. Oh, no freezing weather, no snow, granted there isn't Shite to do in Stephenville, TX, but there isn't anything to do in Missoula either, unless you are a person into the outdoors.

The G. Piff gentleman looks like he’d be a good LB’er. Help me out here, aren’t TE’s more along the lines of 6’6” and 250-270 range. I have no real knowledge about that position, I can just recall tall & large humans at that position.

He kind of reminds me of Dante Olsen (sp?) during his Junior/Senior years. Piff looks solid, glad he jumped on board!

Hopefully the Griz can land some 290-300lb Dline nasties. Maybe some of the big Oline recruits they got this year be willing to transition to Dline. 🤞 some holdouts don’t find good homes this coming Spring/Summer and decide playing is better than NOT playing.

Oh, for crying out loud...Missoula is among the best places to live in the entire country with a billion things to do.

Go fly a kite.

We have months to fill these slots, and there will be a larger number of players looking for homes that didn't land in FBS this year than in any year past. Not time to panic yet, guys.
We just got our asses beat 2 years in a row by the same squad. Stout at the line of scrimmage. Gub held his own, but regression and lack of depth this year. That’s not panic. Stating facts and not being satisfied with average results.

Travis Kelce 6’5” 250
George Kittle 6’4 250

This is an example of why people question recruiting at UM. Carroll got him out of the portal this past season.
Rocky Shields / Denver, Colo. / Columbine HS / Washington State University/ DL, 6-3, 285
Shields comes to Carroll from Washington State University. Prior to Washington State, he was a team captain, three time all-conference, and two-time all-state performer at Columbine. He was a member of the 2023 All-Colorado team. Off the field, Shields was a three-time member of the Academic Honor Roll. Rocky is the son of Ron Shields and has four sisters (Rylie, Alexa, Taylor, Christa). He plans to pursue a degree in Business.
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Columbine High School…as a JUNIOR, named to All-State Second Team and All-Jeffco First Team after making 29 tackles with five sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery…as a SENIOR, named to All-Colorado by The Denver Post and 5A All-Jeffco First Team…helped CHS to 5A state quarterfinals…made 28 tackles with one sack and one forced fumble…rated three-star prospect by ESPN.com and 247Sports.com…rated No. 14 prospect in the state and No. 108 defensive tackle in the country by ESPN.com.

So are you saying we won't find or get anyone who can help with that since we haven't by now?

Why would I question about a guy that didn't even transfer to another FCS school?

Isn't this beautiful weather providing some wonderful fly fishing? Griz staff probably out there today. Transfers? Portals?
