Not necessarily. Heard that Ah Yat was the “practice” player of the year and looked like one of the best QBs in the country in practices. So they rolled with him when they could. I think Fife didn’t light up practice but was a “gamer”. I’ll personally take a “gamer” but the staff saw it differently I guess.

Most of Bobby’s better guys have been transfers. The difference is BH first era they could have their pick of FBS transfers that did not want to sit out a year as this was pre transfer portal.

I recall 100% when at least 7-8 posters had similar bad mouth comments regarding one Hayden Harris when he came in from UCLA as a back up who didn’t see the field much and didn’t have stats. I claimed he’d be a beast here simply because UCLA football was on such a different level. I was correct on that one, and many ended up looking foolish there. I’m keeping receipts on this one too. He will be a pretty good QB is my guess.
