2025 Schedule - 8 home games?

I think (other than QB) the pieces are there to have a good offense. The defense not so much.

I'm not so sure. I'm concerned about the O-line still. They performed drastically lower than expectations this year, and it didn't help our QB situation.
This. Our O line has seemed to regress or stay stagnant. Definitely haven’t improved last few years. I have never seen so many running backs get blown up when taking a handoff.

At least next season I won't put as many road miles on my truck going to away games. Sac State is the longest drive, Then Portland State, Weber State and Idaho State.

The athletic department should try and get that Sacred Heart game moved to week 0 so we're not playing 12 straight games without a bye week.
I agree, don't like the fact we don't have a Bye Week, with our tendency to lose a game or 2 we have no business losing I feel this increases the chance of that due to wear and tear

The Griz should do very well with that schedule vs the Cats schedule. The Cats open at Oregon and then at home against SDSU.

It's going to be fascinating to see what the playoff selection committee does was a team that is 10-2 with a D2 win and zero ranked wins

Let’s dissect the schedule one by one.

September 6 vs. Central Washington. Perfect opponent to open with. With how many new faces there’s bound to be on this team, this is a nice way to ease into the season. Get everyone up to speed, feeling good and confident about themselves, and then let’s roll.

September 13 vs. North Dakota. Revenge game. A chance to redeem ourselves against a team that we should’ve beat. We’ve faired quite well in revenge games. New head coach in Eric Schmidt. Will they be able to hang on to guys? So far it looks ok for them.

September 20 vs. Indiana State. The gutter ball of the Valley. These guys are really bad! Regardless of what our team looks like next year, it will be a long day for the Sycamores. Just like in 22.

September 27 vs. Idaho. Tough game to open league play with. The Vandys lost a lot of guys to the portal last year but I don’t see that being the case this year. They should have a pretty good team next year.

October 4 @ Idaho State. First road game of the year after four straight home games to open the year. Games are always tighter here and ISU is improving, but they got some serious work to do on defense.

October 11 vs. Cal Poly. Poly’s lost a couple players to the portal. They seem like they’re stuck in purgatory and can’t get out.

October 18 vs. Sacred Heart. Move this game to Week 0 right now. Call the AD at SHU and let’s get this game on August 23 so we can have a normal bye week. Idk why Haslam and Athletics didn’t consider doing that when they were filling out the schedule. Good news is there’s still time. Better late than never.

October 25 @ Sacramento State. Sac’s lost a bunch of good players to the portal already. Still on the hunt for a new head coach. We’ll see how that turns out.

November 1 @ Weber State. You think things are bad here? Get a look at Weber. Everyone’s leaving Weber. Literally every big name player including Munoz, Bankston, and everyone on defense is gone. Even their DC left to go to Idaho State. That’s when you know you’ve fallen on hard times.

November 8 vs. Eastern Washington. I can’t believe Best has 3 years left on his contract. Now today Visperas enters the portal and it’s likely another tough year for Eastern.

November 15 @ Portland State. Chachere is gone so PSU will regress next year.

November 22 vs. Montana State. Home team has been stellar in this game. Cats lose a lot of guys on both sides of the ball. Long time to go before this game.

I think there’s really only 2 games on this schedule that we could lose. Everything else looks ridiculously simple. We would have to have a catastrophic offseason to fuck up this schedule. We avoid Davis, we avoid NAU, and we get Idaho and the cats at home. That sounds like best case scenario for the Griz.

I think next year will be way more of a rebuild year. I’m guessing a 7-5ish type year, maybe a 8-4 with only 7 d1 wins.
That record with that schedule is pathetic.

The only good teams are UND (I’m assuming), Idaho, and MSU, and those games are all at home! If they lose 4-5 games, fire everybody. It’s going to be year 8 of Hauck 2.0, what happened to having standards?

Well, unfortunately, I’m old enough to remember when 90% of Griz nation was predicting a 10-2 record this year with our easy schedule….that didn’t work out so well…and I would argue we have way more talent this year than we will next year. If we don’t overhaul our entire O Line it’s gonna be just a so-so year imo.
