Now that the Griz are out who should I root for if anyone?

msu is a Missouri valley team playing in the big Sky. They are built to play smash mouth football just like university of South Dakota, NDSU, and SDSU. More than likely that is your semi-final games. Pick your poison from there. I would love to see Davis but it’s tough sledding going on the road for two tough road games. I cannot and will not go for msu….

How do you like your first 8 days on the Montana football board?
 
Always going to root for Montana kids. A bunch of fantastic Montana boys on that roster who represent our great state well. Think they will have a difficult time getting past USD though (if they can get past UCD) - bad matchup for them.

There is a difference between "mostly Montana " and "Montana heavy."
But it's definitely more of a Montana team than the Dakota State teams and their instate players.
 
...I think its the year of the Cats...they look unstoppable...Tommy Mellott
has proven himself as leader to take it all the way...surprising is that they
had guys hit the portal and did not lose a step...tells you they got some-
thing going on that will keep on reloading...

I’m always impressed to see how many Griz fans can cheer for the Cats in the playoffs (or even just when we aren’t playing each other). I think a lot of that comes down to the fact the Cat/Griz game hasn’t been your “Super Bowl” most seasons.

Going thru the streak and so many dismal Cats seasons, I always took pleasure in seeing the Griz lose to anyone. But I’m slowly coming around. I tried hard to cheer for the Grizzlies last week and yesterday. But it just felt so dirty. 😂
 
If it were about teams, I'd root for MSU.

However, the fans make it impossible for me to root for them, NDSU, SDSU.

I'll be rooting for a 1st time FCS champion moving forward this season.

Mascots do not win games. Who cares? I don't think people get intimidated by a mascot.
 
The big question for me is how the Cats will move the ball against that SDSU rush defense. I’ve never seen the Griz face such a dominant wall before. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out, especially since the Cats might actually have an elite rushing offense. At least we’ve still got a Montana team in the mix to give us something to watch. I’m hopeful that next year the Griz will have a good chance to rise back to the top.
 
I can understand not wanting the Cats to win but everyone over here should be aggressively cheering for Davis against the MV. Otherwise it's likely 3 MV and 1 BSC in the semis. Don't need that. If Davis wins the BSC has a guaranteed slot at Frisco.

Id imagine Tommy will be keeping the ball a lot and will probably get 70-100 yards against them himself. MSU also has a much better o line than us. They blitz MSU like they did to us, Tommy will gash them.

I definitely want UC Davis to win but, I don't think they have a chance if they go up against NDSU or SDSU. The only team that has a shot at beating them is MSU. Honestly, I was more impressed with the Cats defense than SDSUs. That'd be a hell of a match up.
