I thought he did a great job given the situation of inheriting a program filled with off the field scandals. His 2012 team is a good example for anyone who thinks Fife is the worst qb we have had in 20 years but his 2013 and 2014 teams beat the Cats and played in the playoffs.
Sure, nice guy. Not a great coach.

I talked to some friends that cheer for the neighbors. They believe Vigen is leaving after the playoffs. They don’t want him to go, but they’re not really that upset about it either. They just assume the AD is going to find someone as good or better. These same people were pretty much apocalyptic when Choate left.
They would prefer Vigen not go to Utah State though.
They told me they hope Bobby stays here forever.

Looking at Nevada's record, 6 losses were decided by 7 points or less, and only Boise St. was decided by that much. Most where 3 to 5 points. A big improvement comparing to the 2023 season.
If I were a Nevada fan I'd be looking forward to the future.

Sounds like Entz to Fresno is getting close.
Lets help Costello in his search. Make a list of his top ten preferred choices, then offer the #6 guy. Saves a lot of time, effort, and expense.
Entz to Fresno State. He's a great coach but that just does not feel like a good fit. Outside of this year at USC, he has no west coast ties at all. He did play a big part in turning around USC's defense, but man I feel like he's much more suited for a midwest job. His plan worked though. He took a chance on himself as an assistant, and it paid off for him. Hope he does well!

Choate was on record saying his turn around plan is a four-year process: first year, lose big; second year, lose small; third year, win small; fourth year win big.
His record at MSU pretty much reflects that. His style of ball is successful anywhere.

If he leaves, it won’t be to be as a head coach.
Choate is an amazing salesman considering his career winning percentage is below .500. He’s already got Nevada committed to constructing an IPF, wonder if he’ll stick around to see its completion.

Ever Cat fan I know (including me) hopes Bobby 2.0 stays forever. 2-4 against the Cats is the worst performance since the gris invented football in the late 80's. There is genuine disappointment in all Cat fans that MSU won't see the gris again this year in the playoffs to make it 2-5.
I hope Vigen stays but the writing is on the wall. Just a matter of time.
