The blonde female ref was bad

This thread was forwarded to the NCAA and Grizzly athletics.
Ok, Karen. How did you tattle to the ncaa?

Hoops is right, of course. The lady ref was bad because she made bad calls, not because she was a lady.

Also, remember the “rat faced” ref. He was terrible and it had nothing to do with the fact that his father was a rodent.

There are a number of them in Montana. You probably don’t follow basketball except during you and your kids benchwarmer days.
I was talking football. And truly don't think I've seen a Native American official in a college or pro football game. But go ahead and belittle my kid for the 1,000th time and call me a racist.

Seems like someone who was recognized for successfully mentoring young women would not be so eager to call out a young woman for a perceived mistake. A basic principle of a great mentor is to praise publicly and criticize privately.

I looked her up also. She’s scheduled to appear as part of the staff at the Midwest Football Officials Conference in March 2025. I checked box scores and she’s been officiating in the MVFC since at least 2019. I think that she must be qualified to have lasted that long in the preeminent FCS football conference. If there is any conference that doesn’t subscribe to DEI, my money is on the one sitting in Ruby Red flyover country.

I’m not her mentor. I don’t support incompetence. Anyone who calls that play defensive PI should not be officiating at this level, in my view. She is hurting women officials. This was not a judgement call. She was standing right there. I have never called out a female official in my life.

look at the play and tell us what you think.

“Sports Officiating • Recreation and Wellness Center • UCF

XXXX - First female Intramural Sports alum to officiate Division I NCAA Football;”

They do flag football.

yeah, because no official ever has fucked up once or twice, especially in the fcs. give it a rest greenie, you sound like the uncle nobody wants to start talking with at thanksgiving for fear of some stupid rant against some group or someone 'not like him'.

Please explain.
Her horrendous call was so bad and stood out so much, and people could see she was a woman, that it causes reactions like mine. She was hesitant and slow often in the game. I expressed my view. You can have a different view. Your calling me a misogynist, etc, when you don’t know who I am, how much I have supported and support women, how much I know about DEI, how much I know about secondary play and PI, and how much I know about bias, shows me what an overreacting woke and biased liberal you are. The offices I headed, where I did the hiring, had a majority if women including a majority of female lawyers. You jumped the wrong guy. You clearly don’t know what you are talking about. What have you accomplished in your life? Anything?

Again misogyny is not the same as racism. That’s what I said. Partner of Year for mentoring associates. Nominated and supported by 3 female associates. I was given 2 free round trip airline tickets anywhere in the world. My wife and I went to Hong Kong and Philippines. I was the first recipient of the new award. It was a nice honor. I helped the one who stayed at the firm become a partner. She was born in Viet Nam during end of War and she and her family became refugees. She went to Yale undergrad.
so we need to forgive all your current misogynistic rants? what a master of logic you are lately, greenie!

It’s how she screwed up, not that she screwed up. No one who understands the game would make that call backwards like she did, based on what I saw, as well as the current official, former player, and others sitting with me saw. If people like you keep bringing this up, I will keep responding.

It wasn’t misogynistic nor a rant. What you need to do is learn the game and learn to better assess situations. I have enough experience with you to know you don’t have a clue.

there have been similar head scratchers to end nfl games lately. seems like a very strange thing to fixate on.

1. All officiating in the bsc/fcs is awful. Always has been, and evidently always will be because no one gives enough of a shit about our level to do anything to improve it.

2. The pi call was bad. Not the only horrible call in the game.

3. The fact the official is female is not the reason for the bad call (refer to #1, 2).

4. Calling her a DEI hire is offensive and has no place on our board.

5. I have no fucking idea what politics has to do with any of this, but I know for certain anyone raising it realizes they're getting their ass kicked in the discussion and are desperate to change the topic.

And there we have it.

A good lawyer would recognize when they make an admission.
Let me give you a nickels worth of free advice on debating with Hoop/PR on any subject. You are never, and I mean NEVER going to win or even come to a reasonable conclusion. It is not about who is right or who is wrong. It’s about volume. You will never match his posting volume on any topic. He said as much earlier in this thread.

He is a retiree whose life revolves around posting on e-griz, so he will simply drown you with retorts. My advice, not that you asked for it, is make your point and move on. Let him “win” at e-griz posting, as apparently that’s all he has.

When did the play happen. I would like to take a look.
Just found it i believe... If it was the one at end of 3rd quarter (Jaxson Lee at about the 10 yardline) I am not sure how that isn't DPI. The TE was in his route, and past 5 yard contact area, he is shoved forward (toward the endzone) by #45 Otlewski, and because of that shove, he and Jaxon Lee collide, and both fall down. The penalty SHOULD have been on #45. So yes, the official did get the wrong player on the call, but it was DPI.

If your original post did not include the last 2 sentences, I'd have no problem with your complaint. But you included them. Those should have been delegated to the political BS forum, and leave your liberal, woke, DEI, etc. comments out of the Football forum. I normally very much enjoy your comments, but you do have quite the tendency to throw insults at those of us who don't vote like you. Yes, you and yours did win the election. Now get over it.
