O Line next year

So we return some starters with Journey, Liam and Cannon. Johnson, McCabe Bueheler on the two deep (all assuming they return of course). Lose our best in Casey. I’m not an expert in o line play, but I’m wondering how we feel going into next year and the prospect of taking a step forward.

My question is how to we feel about the OL in 2026. Actually, the bigger question is how will the OL do on Saturday night.

A question about next year doesn’t mean I’m not rooting for all position groups to play well Saturday. It is possible to think about short, medium and long term questions and goals without slighting anyone. It’s college where guys have a finite amount of time.

I mean last week did show where we need to make the biggest improvement, whether that's during the playoffs, next year or beyond and that's in the trenches.

To be honest, I’m kind of over hearing how good the line will be every single year only to watch our quarterbacks and running backs be tackled in the backfield every single season for the past what feels like the past 10 years. Our lines are waaaaaaaay behind the Dakotas and I don’t see that changing soon. It seems we struggle mightily to pick up 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1. No DOLA from my viewpoint.

DOLA has been dead you years now. Didn’t we get rid of that acronym?

Its no surprise that the top 4 teams in FCS have the top 4 OLines. The griz have to hit the portal hard and upgrade big time on the OLine. Not saying they are crap just saying they are not near the top 4 teams

Heard on the tv game last week that the kittens have had one change in the Oline in the last 2 years... thats the recipe for winning

That’s not true. They lost 2-3 starters alone to the portal last year who went FBS. They have changes every year and still have a better O line than the Griz

Who was saying how good the OL was this season? I assumed they were better in earlier part of season.

So you think talking about next year’s OL should be a main topic on day of playoff game?

I like the incoming recruits, but definitely need some portal beef on both sides of the ball.

Is the kid who was flipping off the MSU student section supposed to be good? The one who Hauck had to pull his hand down. He's o line.

It seems each season for the last several years that the coaches and fans get all excited about how good the OL looks in camp and how much depth they have on the field. Then we watch them struggle mightily against any team who can stop the run and apply pressure to the QB. I was just making the statement that I think we all tend to fall into this false narrative that our line is gonna be dominant….when it usually falls short of that. Just my opinion.

Perhaps. But I don’t remember much of that this year nor any from the coaches. The amount of cruising the OL and coach was muffled early in this season.
