No, most observers don’t agree with you. Hauck has gotten UM back to what is a top 4 team based on polls in last 4 complete seasons. 1-1 against Cats last 2 seasons and trip to Frisco last year. No. 2 in Nation last year.
MTHoopsfan,
I am a viewer for the last 7 or 8 years on this forum as a friend of mines son played for the Griz.
I have a couple of questions for you and some statements and suggestions.
1. Why do you cherry pick statistics when you use them?
While I was disappointed that the Griz lost last week, you stated that Jones rushed for only an average of 4.5 yards a carry if you remove the 88 yard run.
While I agree that would be the average yard per carry, he did run for that 88 yard rush. Even without that he averaged 4.5 yards per carry while Gillman was at 3.5. Heck take away Gillman’s long of 13 yards and his yards per carry becomes 2.4 yards per carry. You can use or abuse statistics in so many ways.
2. I agree with you on the fact that Coach Hauck is a very good coach. I do wonder why he and the rest of the staff struggled with a clear vision of the #1 QB this year.
3. Why do you often resort to telling a poster that they don’t know the game and have never played?
From your posts I have ascertained that you played in the Ivy League in the 1960’s. That is very awesome that you played at that level. With that being said, the game has certainly changed in the last 60 years. How many different formations did you ever face while you played? I bet the T formation and the I formation with one split end, who was in a three point stance.
I know that my son, who is a sophomore defensive end In high school, has faced way more offensive schemes than you did in your playing days.
I played in college, not in the Ivy League, but a little unknown conference called the Big Ten. I played in the early 2000’s and even coached for a few years in that little known conference and I still am amazed by how much the game has changed.
Lastly, I have a question for you, as when you played the best available helmet was a suspension helmet.
You seem very angry and aggressive lately. Have you ever thought about looking into TBI or dementia?
My grandpa played football in the 1960’s and he is angry all the time as well.
Unfortunately he was just diagnosed with dementia and maybe early stages of Alzheimer’s.
Just thought I’d ask since you seem to be overly aggressive lately.
