The broadcast crew for Saturday nights game will be called by Roxy Bernstein and Jay Walker. Bernstein is very good, he will do a great job, and Jay Walker covers HBCU schools very closely so he will be well versed on everything we need to know on TSU.

The Griz will follow Florida-Florida State on ESPN2 and we'll go head to head with BYU-Houston on ESPN. This is the only game of the first or second round of the playoffs on linear tv. Interested to see what it draws.

There will be less people watching ESPN than will be in the stadium this Saturday.

Wonder why the Griz game was the only one chosen to be on ESPN2?
Is it the atmopshere of Wa-Griz stadium?
OR is it because Eddie George got Ten State into the playoffs?

Did we ever find out what the TV Ratings were for the UC Davis game? I've scoured Google trying to find it but have come up with nothing.

100% the atmosphere and Montana draws eyeballs to the tv. That's the same reason why Montana was the only team on ESPN2 last year in the quarterfinals.

(Edit - NDSU @ South Dakota quarterfinal was broadcasted on ABC)

Really?? Everyone says that the program is in the shitter and that nobody cares about Montana anymore. Are you sure we’re still relevant?

I saw a number a couple weeks ago. I think it was like 170k or something
So if we had 170k, then we were right up there with NDSU/SDSU’s numbers.

1. #1 SDSU @ #2 NDSU - 174k
2. #4 UC Davis @#7 Montana - 170k
3. #7 Idaho @ #3 MSU - 75k

Notice that both MSU and UM games were 8:15 PM kickoffs 😂

I think the game is on ESPN 2 because of both WA-GRIZ status as one of the best stadiums, including game-day atmosphere, jn college football, FCS and FBS, and because of former Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George ( Ohio State ), who was an NFL All-Pro @ Houston and Tennessee as a great NFL RB, and is slso a former football broadcast analyst--Coach George is very well known in both college football, especially The Big 10, and NFL circles !!!

( I read a ranking of the top 30 stadiums 🏟 in college football that was written 10-15 years ago, and the only 1-AA, FCS stadium among the 30 was WA-GRIZ !!! )

I think it is on ESPN2 because it is the only game in the Mountain or Pacific time zone for that tv time slot.

Probably right, Helena, but if Northern Colorado--I know, let's pretend !!!--was hosting Tennesse State, I think ESPN might show only the BYU-Houston game due to NC's relatively small, uninspiring stadium.

Roxy is terrific. I can't recall if he's ever done games at WaGriz, but he called our back to back bsc championships at Dahlberg so he's familiar with Missoula.

I'm not a fan of Walker, but well, fcs level so....

Roxy’s one of the top College Basketball broadcasters out there. He’s typically at the Maui Invitational right now, but I did not hear him yesterday when I was watching any of the games so he must not be doing it this year.

I can’t recall any Football games I’ve heard him call but it’ll be cool to hear him call one on the grid iron instead of the hardwood.

That's great we have a basketball broadcaster calling a football game. I sure he will be a slam dunk.
Dude, maybe know something before posting.

He's called many, many football games, including college games on ESPN and the P12 Network. He also is broadcaster for the A's and has called NFL games for Westwood One.

Now, I admit that the NFL and MLB are no match for the fcs playoffs, but I bet he'll do all right.....

Well I read his bio on wiki. Sounds like not only is he a slam dunk but he's a home run also.
