I'd like to see if Sampson would be willing to be groomed for the job? Will Dane Oliver ever consider taking on an assistant div 1 position?

Part of UM’s issue is the obsession with wanting a former player or “Montana guy” to be the coach. That mentality severely limits our options. We don’t NEED someone who is a previously players or coach here. Everyone has ptsd from Stitt.

I wholeheartedly agree. Former Griz players do not necessarily make the best option. There is probably a position coach out there looking for an opportunity to move up and the AD should be open to any and all. Besides, don’t expect anything happening anytime soon.

Colt is not leaving the NFL to coach at UM. However, if Bobby is still the coach 20 years down the road and Colt wants to retire, I'm sure Bobby would be on board to bring him on to hangout.

Oliver is doing no such thing. There are 7 Sentinel mods on roster now, 5 of whom are young.

Maybe... and this is a wild suggestion... maybe we should look into dipping into the NDSU coaching ranks? I mean, they're obviously doing something right over there, and it's worked out for MSU (even with them picking their "6th choice").
