I mean, that's different than when he was on the team, right? His grow-op was legal in Montana, and years later. He was convicted in 2013 on federal charges for engaging in activity that was legal in Montana. I didn't think he had any part of that while he was student.

I don't know about him getting kicked of the team. I was a teenager. But the timeline on the grow-op doesn't match up.

Manley questioned why Washington was singled out for prosecution and argued he was following the state's medical marijuana law.

Correct. BH kicked him off for "unspecified reasons", and he never disclosed what those were.

All valid points. The only point I'll raise is there are always glimpses of very good in every QB who gets a DI scholarship and gets playing time. That's how they got there in the first place. It will be Huot's fourth year in the program next year, and I can't remember him taking a collegiate snap. I'm not trying to disparage these specific players; I'm just trying to say (big picture) maybe it's possible that we see ceilings earlier than we want sometimes.

Which leads to another controversial subject, which is transfers with experience in FBS programs. Many seem to want us to roll out a HS grad or RS frosh and "develop" him in DI games. Others think the opposite; get a transfer who knows what DI defenders look like rather than sacrificing a season(s). I think this season has kind of shown what can happen when you try to force the former. That's why I think the farm system approach could work. Everybody's already read my thoughts on that, so I'll again spare the board.

Ah, yes. I would agree with you in general with a lot of that...it's not 2020 anymore. The NIL stuff has changed it so much that in "today's college football" it's a bit more difficult to develop. Teams need to win now to avoid mass transfers out, and all the other issues. I have always preferred developing QB and letting them play when they were ready, specifically for the reasons that have been brought up in numerous posts...familiarity of the system and WRs being a big one. Generally what that meant was that you had 2 or 3 QBs that were all developing, so when one left, you had QB2 ready to step in. Back in the day, sure there were QB transfers in, but we were all amazed that they were available and wanted to be Griz. Now, you can go to the portal, and with the right amount of cash, get a Craig Ochs. I hate the new system and it needs fixed, but that's why I think developing is really on the back burner for most places.

PUL-EASE! You Lowry guys crack me up. The Buckaroos are perennially the worst team in the Northern 3A. Frank and Esther’s son wouldn’t have seen the field at Elko High. During Frank and Ester’s son’s senior year they lost to Battle Mountain High 😂😂😂.

In celebration the senior class at BMHS climbed the hill and painted the rocks for the first time since the mid-90’s.

Everyone knows that the only reason Frank and Ester’s son was on the field playing trumpet was because of the tragic deaths of the Olson twins in that mineshaft cave in that devastated the trumpet section.

Elko High lives rent free in the heads of Lowry fans ever since the streak.
 
Absolute tragedy that anyone on the planet would get in trouble for growing, smoking, or even distributing in mass quantities to anyone and everyone..... a plant. Especially a plant like Cannabis that has thousands of positive uses, positives, and almost zero negatives.

Washington got nicked up a bit, the coaches took that opportunity to move in Bergquist, and Bergquist and the coaches never looked back. Source: Horse’s Mouth.
 
Barring some unexpected development, Logan will be our starting QB next year as well.

I do hope Keali'i matures more and works on his throwing mechanics, and he should improve Season 25 vs. 24. I thought after he played in 4 or 5 regular season and playoff games last year that we would see a clear sign of improvement 24 vs 23, but I didn't see it--still an elusive, fast runner, still not a very good passer.

And I think not only Keali'i improves year over year hopefully but so does Logan !!!

Fife won't be sticking around unless he is named the starter for the rest of the year and for next year as well. However with how Bobby likes to do things (competition in the offseason) he is pretty much gone. Why would he come back to this potential 2 QB mess again when he could go to another FCS school and probably start (see Vidlak).

Maybe because he wants to play on a top team in a terrific stadium with his new friends? Instead of at McNeese or SFA. But maybe MSU?
