Future Viewing Options

I love the Griz using ESPN+ for FB games. Better than Pluto. I would like for ESPN+ to be available to the Griz subscribers all season and post season. IMO, this will build the Griz fan base especially for out of staters. Adding an ESPN2 type game to the schedule works against the Griz fan base. Playoff games using MSM such as ABC, Fox, NBC, etc. also works against the Griz fan base.

Many Griz fans cut the cord on MSM 1-5 yrs ago. I feel it is unreasonable for fans to pay for 2-3 different medias to watch Griz FB. This year ESPN2 didn't allow ESPN+ viewers to watch the game after 2 yrs of doing so. The Griz lost viewership for our last game. Many Griz fans can't afford a significant charge for a one - two game viewing option.

I would like a viewing source that carries Griz games for the entire season. The ESPN2, ABC or Fox, etc. should be an add-on that doesn't impact ESPN+ subscribers.

Just a thought for future UM contracts.

Anyone who suggests having games on national television is somehow detrimental to a program is whacked.

No disrespect.

And as I've pointed out repeatedly, anyone who has dropped cable and then complains about not being able to easily view something broadcast on -- you know-- cable, is hilarious.

I totally disagree with you. I will post shortly my rationale.

Couldn't you just go to a sports bar or a friend's house that has the channel the game is on, if you don't want to purchase?

You can also do short subscription of FUBO TV or Youtube TV and then cancel? You don't have to sign a long term contract with a cable carrier.

To me it is not reasonable for many fans. It is a laughing matter on this web site. It is not a laughing matter to about 20% of Griz fans or Cat fans.

What's a laughing matter?

Let me see if I can use an analogy to better make my point: You absolutely love Trader Joe's Mango Jicama Slaw. Can't get enough of it. You've tried many other store's slaw, but it's just not the same.

But TJ's is expensive, so you resolve never to shop there. The next 5 times you're in Albertsons or Safeway, you yell at the manager because they don't carry the Trader Joe's Mango Jicama Slaw. The sixth time it happens, the authorities are called and you're subjected to a forced mental health evaluation.

Bad example.

Many religious posters on this site would suggest your post as a poor parable to make a point.
Dude, the post has literally ZERO to do with going to a bar to watch the game. It deals with complaining about not being able to use something because you made a conscious decision to get rid of it. Don't blame cable for putting sports on cable and you're unable to watch it because you don't want to pay for it. Dumbest thing ever.

I mean, do you also get mad at movie theatres for not allowing you to watch first run movies in your home?

I'm not trying to make a joke out of anything, I was just suggesting alternatives. Watching with a friend or at a sports bar is doesn't seem unreasonable to me, nor does just signing up for Fubo/Sling/whatever has a deal at the time. If you're signing up for ESPN+, I don't know what is harder about signing up for one of those?

You just don't get it.

National broadcasted games do more for brand recognition and income than anything.

But we can’t do that because it will be inconvenient for about 400 Griz fans.

You are right that I do not get it. Please explain.

You are saying "20%" of Griz fans. Do you mean mobility, like cannot leave the house? Are you talking money? What is the obstacle that is making the suggestion unreasonable? If you tell me, I may be able to solve that for you.

I don't hear 20% of people complaining about this issue.

I LOVE having ESPN+ for the vast majority of Griz games. It's so much better than having to pay for a higher dish package plus a sports pack for the whole season like I used to do in order to get the ROOT games. And then still having to figure out how to watch the remaining games, which was a crapshoot at best and impossible at worst.

Yes one regular season game plus the later playoff games are on ESPN, but luckily I can "borrow" my folks dish login. However, even if I couldn't I would not be upset - I would just sign up for Sling (or something like it) temporarily. It's still far cheaper, easier and less stress inducing than it used to be! I'm always thankful that I get to watch the games from across the country.

If you know how to sign up for ESPN+, you know how to sign up for a free trial of FUBO or YouTube TV. This seems like a complaint with an easy solution in search of a problem.
