It's costly penalties and dropped passes!
Both those problems have hurt our qb production this season. Unfortunately for AhYat he's yet to mature to overcome obstacles. Meanwhile, Fife's maturity and experience minimize things more.
Honestly, after watching the last few games on demand, I think we're a little harsh with our qbs.
Yes, AhYat makes a few more questionable passing decisions. Drives stall more with him. There's more critical drops and costly penalties with him. He made 1 real bad decision against PSU.
The dropped passes stalled multiple drives. Those definitely weren't his fault.
Why does Fife get better consistency?
1. He trusts his receivers more to make plays. Meaning, he chooses to pass more often, than run.
2. He utilizes the middle 1/3 of the field more, with much quicker decisions.
3. He throws much easier to catch passes. He throws more passes with better touch and finesse than AhYat.
AhYat hasn't yet learned what passes to throw when. He strong arms too many passes.
4. The 2 qb rotation and inconsistent play calls have hurt both.
Basically, the difference of the 2 are the little things. Please watch the PSU game, AhYat didn't play as bad as many are saying. His team made more mistakes that made things worse for him.
