MBBALL Tennessee

would be nice to ever recruit dudes that can shoot. You think decuire would be tired of watching his own offense not scoring for 5 mins at a time year after year. What was the point of getting the kid from sac state in the transfer portal if he's just gonna stand around and airball 3's?
The side of the barn was there, and we couldn’t hit it.

Tennessee must have been concerned by the first half to keep some starters in towards the end up 30+? I haven’t been able to watch, just going off the gamecast.

Well that was about what I expected. Tennessee has been the model of consistency under Rick Barnes. They quite literally never have a let down against mid majors ever. Idk what they have left for mid majors on their schedule, but whoever it is it will be similar results. The best news about tonight is if we were to reach March Madness, we would not draw these guys in the tournament, so good thinking there Decuire lol.

As for the game I actually thought we did an ok job attacking the paint. Awesome night for Money but he just didn’t get enough help from the rest of the team. Defensively I thought we did a pretty good job on them in the first half before they started heating up in the second half and then it became too hard to slow them down.

Idk about you guys but I saw this lineup a couple times especially in the first half, and I thought this was our strongest lineup: (Money, Whitney, Pridgen, Jedkins, Sawyer). I thought when those 5 were on the floor together, that’s when we were at our strongest. They were very disruptive defensively, they had good chemistry, good ball movement, and strong offensively. If I’m Decuire I’d go to that lineup more as the season progresses.

5 days off now before Utah State on Monday. Big opportunity for this group. Money found his groove tonight and I expect guys like Pridgen and Sawyer will have a pretty solid game. It’d be great to get Moore and Bradtke back for that game, and if we do, it could be a dog fight. I think come league play, we’re gonna have a good team. Saw some good things tonight!

This is BASKETBALL, right?
92-57. 🙄
Only got beat by 35!!! (Chest thump! Chest thump! Chest thump!!!) YEAH!!! Decuire for President, or God!!!

Tennessee did kind of run up the score in case you weren’t watching. We had it down to 21 with about 6 minutes to go before Decuire started putting a lot of the bench guys out there and they left their starters in. Had we left our starters in, the margin would’ve been a lot more respectable but it’s not every day you get to play on an SEC court so Decuire let everybody get in on the experience after the game was out of question, while they were padding the stats.

Even though we lost by 30+ I’m somewhat encouraged by our performance. Or more specifically Money. If he can score 30 against Tennessee just imagine what he can do against the rest of the BSC?
But it’s going to take more than Money and 30. I think, I hope Petersen can find his shot, for the most part his mechanics look good. Davidson seems to have some nice moves and even though Pridget did not look as good tonight as previously I think he’s going to be dangerous around the basket despite his size. I was only able to see the second half so can’t comment on how they looked out of the gate. Sawyer looked out of sorts, never really in sync or part of the offense. But he’s playing against SEC bigs and taller, more athletic BIG10 in the middle. I’ve not had the luxury of watching the 3 players that are out with injuries but everyone seems to think they’ll contribute.
For what it’s worth, which is not much, if we can keep Money around for at least two more years and with the young talent we have I really think we could do damage in the tournament. And not just the BSC tournament.
To me going forward our challenge will be to get the rest of the team to understand their roles as it relates to where they need to be when Money starts to make his moves. He will get doubled and even tripled at times so they need to see where they need to rotate to. And expect a pass at anytime.
Anyway that’s how I see it.

Money 💰 upped his NBA stock against Tennessee. There were a few NBA scouts there.

There'll likely be a few scouts at Utah State also.
