Davis is very good, they played very well, and they thumped us (especially later in the game)

Terrific first drive by Griz, then too many 3 of outs (three 3 and outs in a row after first drive, then 10-57 with pick), too many mistakes by Griz, inability of the O to get going way too often, 2 bad interceptions, 2 weak calls by coaches (see below). Severals drops by our receivers, and multiple very nice catches by receivers. Dumb penalty for pushing the Davis player when the refs were standing right there. In 2d half, 4-10, TD, 3-9, 1-0 (pick), 3 for -2. A good team like Davis can't be beaten if the Griz make so many mistakes, and miss those opportunities.

Griz need to pick a starting QB.

A pretty good game by the D (maybe a good game), but those near interceptions need to be caught. Lost some guys in man coverage for 2 TD’s and some longer 3d down pick ups. Davis had some short fields, but the D held them to FG’s. That was good. 386 total offense for Davis, 286 for Griz. In last 4 games before UM, Davis has had TO of 622, 549, 671, and 548.

Hauck said their D handled UM o-line. That’s not good. Davis was loading the box.

Davis did a nice job of keeping the kicks and punts away from Bergen, even though their punter had some shanks. Davis punted 7 times, Griz punted 6.

Larison/no. 3 was 24 for 97, or 4.0 per carry. He’s good, but the D handled him pretty well. Their QB was 28-38 for 227 and 3 TD’s. Too much for him.

No takeaways by Griz. Meyer had 17 tackles, Lee had 13. Wilson is not credited with a sack. Huh? He had a great sack. Griz didn’t have any others.

Fife was 13-23. Ah Yat was 7-18. Ah Yat seems to get sacked too much to me, and gets too many balls tipped. Neither QB saw the field very well, Hauck said that. Both QB’s had a few nice runs. Gillman 8-21. Ostmo only 6-8, but picked up some key extra yards to get those 8. Those two had 14 carries in the game.

No. 11 needs to make that early catch on 3d down. I would have left Fife in the game when he was taken out. Griz need to run the ball on 3d and 1 (and could have run again if they hadn’t gotten a first). That picked in the back of the end zone killed us and was unnecessary. I would have punted at the end of the half on 4th down. Griz gave Davis a FG by going for it on 4th down.

Don’t know why receiver (no.6?) stepped out of bounds before he came back to make the catch on Davis sideline.

Griz should have had a lead at halftime. Bad on the Griz. After getting a lead in the second half, the Griz gave up 17.

22 first downs for Davis, only 15 for Griz. Both teams 6-16 on 3d down conversions. Griz 0-3 on 4th down conversions. In last 4 games before this one, Davis has had first downs of 29, 26, 29 and 31.

Don’t know why the Griz couldn’t have gotten at least one TD in the 4th Q or later in the game.

Hauck said this was Davis' best game of the season.

Akem said after the game that it was time to pick a QB. I assume almost everyone in Griz nations feels that way.

I think the refs goofed up the call on the Davis catch in 2d half, when our defender had the ball after the 2 players came down together. A ref was looking right at it. It was pretty clear to me that our defender took away the ball on the way down.

The Griz are completely capable of winning the next 2 games. Will they do that? I don't know. The O needs to play better. The coaches need to pick a qb and make a few better decisions, in my view. I still think the Griz are not that far off from being better, but maybe I'm just an optimist. I thought the team would show better tonight, even if they didn't win. Obviously, PSU is now a must win.

Boo hoo I was right the whole time pal. You will play PSU very close them get embarrassed in bozeman

Defense was OK. Not great, not terrible but held up OK against a top offense in the country.
Offense was pathetic. Watching Gillman and Fife body language - hope we can keep them.
Couple of breaks and it's a closer game, don't think we win, but it's closer.
Davis is a better team. Look bigger, stronger, faster, and more disciplined.
P.S. is a must win to make the playoffs. The scats will beat the team that played Davis last night by 30. Anything can happen in brawl but I wouldn't put one dollar on it. Beat P.S. and go from there.
Love our Montana Grizzlies but we have some serious issues.
I'll be there next Saturday doing my part.

Go Griz.

The defense actually played pretty dang well, considering that they had to keep going on the field when the offense couldn’t finish. A far cry from mid season when they were giving up 45+ points.

What happened on the late substitution penalty on 4th down after the Davis timeout? Did Bobby address that? Why take the penalty and not call timeout yourself? Nah....give Davis the first down on the biggest defensive play of the game!

And yet we still can only seem to perform well on one side of the ball any given game. Beyond frustrated with this coaching staff

There was a fairly constant stream of late substitutions with the play clock running down, and the refs wouldn’t let Davis snap the ball. Never seen anything like it. Wonder if it was some kind of defensive strategy to incur offensive penalties and it just backfired that one time.

"The Aggies moved to 9-1 overall and 6-0 in the Big Sky as they will host No. 2 Montana State next week in a de facto conference title game." This should be a great game to watch, Griz is a very good team but.....are they at core on a rebuild season? We played two weak teams consecutively, that didn't help us competitively, not an excuse.

Griz will make the playoffs but quarterfinals is as far as I see this group going. Just not good enough on either side of the ball to beat the top teams in fcs.
Yes the Griz will make the playoffs and we may win one /possibly two games depending on how we are seated. The reason that we make the playoffs are two. MONEY and the fact that there are very few good teams left in the FCS. Which are the reasons we are still in the FCS.

A rebuild??

The vast majority of the depth chart are juniors and seniors! Not that many young players are playing.

Not likely. It looked like the defense was struggling to get lined up last night as well.

But the good thing is that Hauck teams always get better as the season goes oh shit wait a minute

Lack of discipline by players and coaches.
