McDowell is injured. Thumb I think.

Sixkiller was playing again for the injured Clifton McDowell, who did not make the trip to Nicholls. McDowell was expected to be a game-time decision after showing improvement during the week.

Anybody know if this kid would be related to Sonny Sixkiller, a Husky QB in my youth? Kind of a rare name. If so he should be able to toss the pigskin.

A very distant relative. I think Cam's great father's cousin's son was Sonny, or something like that.
He started vs Houston Christian. Got hurt, missed last two.
Cowboy head coach Gary Goff announced Monday that the transfer quarterback will miss the rest of the season with a dislocated finger on his throwing hand. It is the same injury that forced McDowell, a graduate senior who led Montana to the FCS title game a season ago, to miss the last two games. He missed a game earlier in the year at Texas A&M with a bad ankle.

Well, I never had any use for those who Quit the Griz. Jumping into the Portal is quitting the Griz, accomplishments, well documented not withstanding. He was a mercenary, playing for the highest bidder, period. How many teams has he 'committed' to and left hanging in this 'career,' including our Griz? Cry me a bucket of tears.
