Good, Bad, Ugly - UNC

Good:
- defense pitched a shutout which is hard to do in this day and age. Defense has only given up 14 points total last 2 weeks. They have moved to more zone concepts and are dropping more in coverage and it has paid off.
- Ostmo and Gillman had great games again. Nick rushed the ball well and Gillman out of the backfield catching the ball proved to work well
- 3 interceptions….Tirrell caused the one to Klucewich, Otlewski was in the right spot at the right time, and then Jaxon Lee’s was a thing of beauty as he ran that down and made a hell of a diving catch
- KAY was better at going through progressions and not settling in on one guy. He threw 2 TDs and did a good job with both. He threw another to White that got erased for a lineman down field and came right back to throw another. All good things there
- fife was solid too at 6/8 for 48
- was good to see Xavier Harris with some touches. A great catch down the sideline, some good fly sweeps, and an awesome kick return
- congrats to Ian Finch on his first TD as a Griz

Bad:
- felt like the offense could have done a little more overall, although they were in complete control.
- didn’t love having an already dinged up Bergen out there late in the game

Ugly:
- cat troll Money coming over here to shoot off his ass-hat mouth about how UNC QB was way low on depth chart and that is only reason Griz defense played so well…..only to then realize it was the exact same QB who had much bigger and better numbers vs his own Cats team. It captures Money-troll perfectly well.

Lee’s pick was the best in the BSC this year

Ugly: can we PLEASE, for the love of GOD, move Jackson to safety? I swear, it’s been almost a certainty that his first long pass play he’s getting a PI. I find it difficult to believe that neither Ford nor Lawler are better corners than him.
Is Ford healthy?

Jackson had a PI yesterday, but I don’t think he has had others in recent games. He is 4th leading tackler on team with 44. He is one of the fastest players on team.

I agree. Was the leading tackler I believe for a game or two. Not nearly as bad as some on here think, in fact, pretty damn good. May not be as good as Walker yet but more physical, bigger, and only a Jr. Getting better each game and will continue to improve.
BH does not treat penalties the same way as egriz, thank god

Just to keep it interesting:

Good: no injuries of any noticeable significance
Bad: UNC are worse than bad.
Ugly: We had 3500 fans and the home team(UNC) had 500.
Sad: I mean NO ONE gives two shits about UNC football
Hard to give two shits when your team is downright terrible. I’d be curious if the Griz had 20 years of losing seasons if fans would still be into it the way we are today.

Good: 9 minute drive in the 3rd quarter and 38:00 TOP. Couple other drives went 4-5 minutes as well. If they can continue that, that’s a winning recipe!

not sure about recent but was his 5th of the season...team had 55 yards in penalties which is just about average for them this season (54 per game average which is 7th in BSC, seems very uncharacteristic of a Bobby team. which I bet will not go unaddressed Monday)

Very Ugly:
- In 9 drives, Keone had 15 yds rushing and 71 passing against cats starters (61 coming in 2 min drill) compared to 153 passing 0 rushing (1 attempt) against gris
- gris score 3 tds against a team ranked 229 out of 263 (sagarin)
- sounds like gris are still behind cats in all three phases

Griz have better offense than Cats. Griz started subbing after a few series. Griz ST better than Cats. Griz D Wilson be better than Cats’.

Correct me if I'm wrong--I've never played FB myself--but if Jackson has that many tackles (and I think he leads the team in solos), doesn't that mean that the players he is tackling are catching the passes that he is supposed to be denying? Also, does anyone keep stats on which players have the most penalties? Would be curious to see who has the most PI'S, the most false starts, offsides, etc.

Do you think he only tackles the man that he is covering?

Most tackles by corners are of runners and swing passes.
