Bubs' schedule easiest since....

Easiest schedule:

  • The 1964 Knox Prairie Fire (Beloit, Grinnell, Coe College, etc)

Well to be fair, for someone dumb enough to choose a team that has just been thoroughly dominated by it’s rival for well over a 100 years, he might fall into the genius level of that fan base. I can not fathom that level of stupidity so I guess it’s not my place to properly judge just how dumb they are. I can tell you this. They will be dumb enough to think that the last couple of years have changed anything. It hasn’t. They still suck, they’re still our little brother, and it’s still their head we’re living in rent free.

If you are just talking about when the last time the Cats had this low of a SOS (58th), then it would be 2015 was the last time. I went off Massey SOS (UM is at 22nd).

Now, lets look at the last 9 year average (it's actually 10 years, but I took out the 2020 season, as UM played just 2 games, and MSU played 0)

UM 10 year average is 40.6
MSU 10 year average is 29.1

Now, this years average will improve for both teams, as they play UC Davis, and each other. MSU's will go up a little more as well depending on where Sac State is ranked when they play them.

This is extremely easy to explain, though:

1. You had a multi-game OOC contract with SDSU right when they became one the top teams in the country, and
2. You played 6 FBS teams in the time frame while we played 3.

I'm fairly positive our FCS-only SOS over that time period is practically the same.

Very True. I just thought it was interesting. I also agree that this year's Cats schedule has been the easiest for them in quit some time. FCS Scheduling is tough for both MSU and UM. Nobody wants to come to Bozeman or Missoula and play.

MSDUI opponents are 19-40 this year.
