If they continue at this rate the scats will be forfeiting their last 2 games...

Perkins -> Cole Sain - little or no drop in play. And JT has now returned at OG. The OL continues to play at an elite level. Other than PR who would say the gris OL is better, most will say this is the best OL in all of FCS.

Schmitt -> Paul Brott - as DHiW always says, the backup was better than the starter. Brott was playing in rotation and outplaying Schmitt anyway.

C Dowler -> went down right when Palidore returned - play has improved at FS.

Danny U -> ok this hurts us. We'll see how lil' Grebe and Neil Daily look in Portland this week. Likely several big plays that wouldn't have happened with Danny. Those guys need to grow up fast.

Cats also return Julius Davis who is practicing full now. It doesn't even seem possible, but the Cats are actually going to get even better at running the ball. Be afraid about your trip to Bozeman this year.

Even if all that is true, losing good depth matters. Most of these guys aren’t playing every down, and I’d bet the drop off to the 3rd string guy is more significant than you’re letting on.

My thoughts exactly. Even if the second string guy is as good as the first string guy (which doesn't really make a lot of sense because then he would be starting), at some point you run out of depth. There's a hard limit.

True. No argument on that. All I'll say is that the benefit of destroying teams every week is the young guys have played a whole bunch already. Guys like Tayden Grey, Taki Uluilakepa, and Talon Marsh have flashed in their opportunities. But yeah. If the wheels keep falling off the bus, the Cats will not be the same team.
 
Who gives a flying you know what. There is only one week that matters when it comes to a Vigen presser or injury update and it’s over a month away. A lot can change for both teams by that point. It’s possible one or both teams limp into it in different fashions. I know it sure as hell didn’t matter in 2021 when we were on our 5th string running back who was a true freshman converted slot back. The brawl is the brawl and at some point it will shift back away from it being a blowout for the home team like the last 4 years.

I assume you're talking to the OP? The idea that the Cats will need to forfeit the last two games is absurd. Due to years of exceptional recruiting and development, including the large number of reps from the 2s and 3s this year, this team will remain a strong contender for a trip to Frisco.

If so, I congratulate the gris for playing in the Pacific Coast Conference against the likes of Stanford, U Washington, Cal, Oregon, Oregon St, etc. Also congratulate the gris for playing in the Skyline against the likes of BYU, Utah, Utah St, Colorado St, New Mexico, etc. I'm serious when I say you should be proud of that history. But you know what? The Bobcats were NAIA for most of that time and DII for the rest of it. That fact that the gris actually lost several of those game in that period is a complete embarrassment to the school and you fans. Shameful even.

Now let's look at the only modern period of playing at the same level and in the same conference. From 1963 onward each team has completed in IAA/FCS, and the record in that time is 32-27 in favor of the gris.
One gris win was vacated because you were caught cheating, otherwise it would be 33-27. With 5 out of the last 7 going in favor of the Cats, I'm seeing that gap closing down fairly quickly. Hell, the Cats might even get two wins this year if the schedule allows. Stay tuned over the next decade for even more progress.

Those vacated wins are wild. There's a program in Montana that played a player who claimed he had taken PEDs months prior, but they magically remained in his system months later (and into the next season) which would logically mean he participated while ineligible for the entire 2021 season. So, I vacated all Bobwins in the 2021 Bobseason. None of them count. It has been decided.

Tbh, I don't like it either. I would rather have it 33-27, and I won't personally consider the Cats "caught up" until the full number is reached.

So that’s a yes. Catsplaining and revisionist history doesn’t undo historical facts. Just to point out the FCS/1AA wasn’t founded until 1978 which is why you guys have a division 2 national title. Both schools also were independent at various points prior to the formation of the Big Sky conference.

Also why would you go back to the start of your 4 win “streak” to make an arbitrary point. But yeah it’s pretty even in the last 10 years at 5-5 and 11-10 in our favor since you ended the streak.
