They actually said it - Bobcat Stadium Noise

By “they”, are you talking about the national ESPN2 announcers who aren’t affiliated with MSU in any way?

MSU is probably the second loudest stadium in the FCS (that I have been to, at least) - which is a far cry from twenty years ago. However, the stadium will never be as loud as WaGriz due to the way it is built. Looks like it was a pretty good showing on national television, though.

I have been pondering the noise thing. At the NAU game the crowd was loyal til the very end... loyal and loud. Could we not get some donations for smallish bagpipes to be issued to those in the NEZ? They make a heck of a racket and would drown out any negativity!?😃😅

As someone who was in Autzen last night, no chance. Loudest game I have every been to in my life. Top 3 home field advantage in college football.
This is a fun exercise. What would you go with for the top 3 home field advantages in CFB? I’ll spot you Autzen since you’ve been and I have never. I think the SEC is kind of out because even the teams they host in conference are usually too good to get rattled a ton by crowds. We could look at records, but that’s no fun. Penn State? Does BYU have a spot? Not talking noise; just home field advantage. I really don’t know.

To clarify I believe the announcer was referring to Eck’s comment saying Bobcat stadium was going to be just as loud as Autzen (probably when they played Oregon) which is definitely accurate. The stadium was extremely loud last night. It was so packed that stairs and walkways were full with people. I heard estimates were just under 22,000 but I bet if there was a headcount it was 23,000+.

👍

A friend was at the Griz-NAU game yesterday. He has been to numerous LSU games over the past 40 years. Re yesterday’s Griz game, he said, “I could not believe how loud it was. It may have been louder than the LSU games I have been to.”

Honestly, you have to consider Greeley, not for crowd size or noise but the eye stinging air quality due to the still smoldering tire fire of 2002.
