Hauck

That is the fault of the coaching staff for throwing all of their eggs in one basket and it didn't work out. You can even get scrambled eggs out of this trash defense. The 3-3-5 is stupid anyway, it doesn't develop NFL Dline caliber players. Heck UM can't even claim the moniker of Linebacker U because we have none active in the NFL in fact I don't think there is a single Griz active on an NFL roster anywhere. There are a couple in the CFL. Yay... let's develop CFL talent.
The Griz have no active players in the CFL and haven't for years. Braxton Hill and Chris Walker are on practice rosters where they make $750 CDN a week. Travon Van was the last Griz to start a game in the CFL and that was in 2017. We should aspire to be able to develop CFL talent.

It probably didn't hurt, but the griz have faced some legit high powered offenses.
We were EWU’s best offensive game.

Weber’s best offensive game.

Western Carolina’s best offensive game.

North Dakota actually didn’t have a great offensive game, funnily enough, because they couldn’t pass.

Missouri State had an average game by their standards.

Unfortunately, the defense is trending down. Obviously injuries have played a role, but players are out of position, and more concerning, players look athletically outmatched. Which, after last years pro day results, isn’t surprising. The S&C program needs to be revamped. Recruiting needs to be better.

Montana 35, Furman 28 (OT), FCS playoff quarterfinal LUCKY

Montana 31, North Dakota State 29 (2OT) Damm Lucky

Montana 23-3 loss to the Jackrabbits - Expected
These wins were not "lucky". The Griz went on a nice little run at the end of last year and clicked at the right time. The problem is that gave our fanbase a very unrealistic impression of where this program is. I don't think the start to this season is the disaster that everyone is bemoaning, as much as it is coming back to reality of where the program is overall.

I’m looking forward to November when the weather gets super cold, it’s our only hope 🤣

You realize that we scheme and practice things like Junior's returns, right? And that there are 22 players on the field trying to win, right? What parts of it are just luck? Please be specific.

Also, you still won't answer the previous question. WHEN was it that our DBs were so bad? You said it has been that way for a long time. How long? You are moving the goalposts again.

The CFL has a bigger field, right? That would explain Van playing there. Everybody knows he best in space.

To be quite honest, I just don't follow the CFL, so please excuse my ignorance on this. How many guys are other teams in the Big Sky putting into the CFL? I know you don't have a full data set off the top of your head, but are they commonly putting a lot more players in it?

Cats and Griz Total Offense is almost identical.

Griz Total- 503.8 yards a Game
Cats Total- 499.3

Griz Passing- 238 a game
Cats Passing- 200 a game

Griz rushing- 265 a game
Cats rushing- 298 a game
Invalid comparison because it doesn't account for the extremely soft schedule the cats have played.

I know everyone likes to shit on the cats schedule this year. It's definitely been easier than ours but not out of the ballpark easier. Also it doesn't account for their 2s and 3s playing tons of snaps or the scheme's they are running to keep their 1s healthy. If you heard Coack Eck's presser he pointed out the upside of this. It may pay off for them as far as health and player development. I don't think anyone has seen their real offensive where their QB runs RPO the entire game. Griz will need to scheme up the defense to stop the outside zone RPO which we know is coming late season. Griz handled it well did last year.

The defense has to step up soon or we are in trouble, so far that's not the case. They have moments but not enough of them I hope they get things corrected. As always Go Griz

There are currently 12 players from the Big Sky in the CFL; 4 of those are on practice rosters; 2 Griz, a Lumberjack and a Vandal. Of the other 8: EWU and Sac St have 2 each, Davis, NAU, Portland, and Idaho all have one.

Most important coach in a program is the strength and conditioning coordinator. In my view I believe that has a more direct impact on the performance and attitude a team takes on a year to year basis. Obviously, you need coaches who are good teachers, but the attitude and heart of a team is in the weight room, conditioning, offseason.

Go Griz
