Good, Bad, Ugly - Weber St

Good:

- Fife continues to throw the ball very well. 30-41 for 344 and 2 TDs. His connection with White is pretty outstanding
- white has a career day with 11 grabs for 163 and 1 TD. He picked up big 3rd downs again too
- Ostmo and Gillman were churning yards again, averaging 5.9 and 5.8 per carry
- Gillman may as well be a video game player at this point….12 touches and 3 TDs
- Riley Wilson played with his hair on fire, racking up 14 tackles and seems to be the only defensive player all over the field
- Hayden Harris had another big game, causing a fumble and had a sack and some TFLs
- Bergen looked good on kick returns….6 for 157 averaging 26.2 per
- Morrison was good on FGs 2/2 and one from 48

Bad:

- the entire defense….the secondary, the line, the LBs, the scheme, the coaches….all of it. Sometimes it’s the Xs and Os and sometimes it’s the Johnny’s and Joe’s. In this case, it’s both! This can’t be just suddenly fixed.
- some very controversial calls….first play the Weber QB starts a fight with everyone and they penalize the Griz. There was a pretty blatant grounding in OT they let go. Weber players literally piling onto Griz players and throwing punches with no repercussions. And then the final call where the receiver got pushed OB, didn’t “immediately” establish himself back in bounds (which is a major part of that rule) and the refs call a TD and uphold it anyways.

Ugly:

- the fact that we are literally going to have to beat everyone 45-42 from here on out. Get ready for shootouts every game.
- our defense making the ewu and Weber st QBs look like the best QBs in all of college football (back to back 6 TD games by those QBs)

Feel free to add……

UGLY- Fans or fan who felt the need to throw water bottles at the Weber players after the game had ended. Weber came into the self-proclaimed "Mecca" of FCS football, the stadium with the best home field advantage of all FCS football and left with a win.
How they won and the manner of their celebration should not be the cause to throw things at them.
I'm sure some will say, win with grace, lose with grace, but everyone knows that to come into WaGriz and leave with a win is an accomplishment.
99.9% of the opposing players and coaches will never play in an atmosphere like that the rest of their careers, let them enjoy the win no matter how much you disapprove of their antics.
Booing is one thing, throwing shit is another.
WaGriz and Griz fans are so much better than that.

I agree with that. However that team wasn’t just celebrating. I was in that area and they came over grabbing their nut sacks, flipping off the crowd, spitting on the end zone, etc. They were classless, and we were no better.

Good: The overall offense (although i would say Gillman needs 20 touches a game)

Bad: everything else (minus a few players stepping up). I get some on here are excuse makers, but some of these kids are not even in the neighborhood as far as correct position to make a play. That is coaching. you coach the players to be in the correct spot. How are the receivers so open? How come so many tackles are missed? etc. I look at the players and yes, there is some drop off, but not what's been happening the entire season. That is coaching. I rewatched the game and then watched one from last season...missed tackles are putting the team from 2nd and 14 or 3rd and 9, to a first down or 3rd and 1 etc. Please fix that...it's will help win games.

The bad, playing down to our opponent, something we seem to be doing a lot this year. More bad, the fight where only one side was penalized. Especially #4 dealing with his Napoleon complex. That guy was head hunting and no call.
The ugly: This would have been just another win for the Griz, but for the weber players this was more than just the game of the year or even game of the decade or even bigger, thus I understand the celebration by the weber players. Still the taunting at the end was ugly. Sad a Griz fan would lower himself to the level of the weber players and throw a water bottle. That was also ugly.
The good, the cannon. I swear #4 wet himself after the cannon went off. Made all of us in the NEZ have a good laugh. Took a little of his strut away.
