I just now saw the supposed game winning TD from ESPN+ on demand.

The BSC officials totally screwed up that call! Regardless if a receiver is forced out or not, said receiver has to reestablish position inbounds. That receiver's step to the thrown ball was from out of bounds. HE NEVER established himself inbounds!

The conference needs to address this one! They better not sugar coat it!

Absolutely terrible call!

When he caught the ball, both feet were in bounds. To reestablish yourself, you only need to have one foot back in bounds. It was the correct call.

You're kind of right. Yes, when he caught the ball, both feet were inbounds. However, as the ball was approaching the receiver, said receiver stepped into the pass while still out of bounds. He didn't establish himself before catching that pass. I believe I'm correct. Unfortunately, I can't make out the small print that someone's posted a few times regarding the rule book.

I think he did take one step in bounds prior to the catch, which would establish himself.
 
Tom wistrcill was there which I didn’t know until watching the replay, so we clearly didn’t have enough angles for the ref to look at it and make the right decision.

No matter what arguments are made for or against moving up, getting away from Big Sky officiating would have to be high up on the pro list.

And you’re perfectly entitled to your interpretation and I mine. I see that he jumped using both legs to make a catch. He landed in bounds with the ball. However, one foot was in and one foot was on the chalk to make the jump, and in my interpretation of the rule he had not done enough to re-establish himself in bounds even though he was forced out by the defender.

As I said in previous posts we should never allow a game to come down to a big sigh official to make or break the game. Sometimes it does. Did it change the ending. Maybe, or maybe not. They likely kick a field goal which is enough to win. I do think it changes the energy for the d coming off the field and the o coming onto it. Botner in relief of Panfiloff got beat bad on that play, but I believe that play is a run if we are only down by 3. I think Pease wanted to go attack and go for a shot right away to take back momentum.
 
Receiver had not re-established as is required by rule, and the bsc refs fucked it up both during the call and during replay. It shouldn't have taken but 5 seconds to review and rule incomplete. But absolutely NO ONE is surprised. It's the bsc, and they get little to nothing right. The conference is a joke, and it's a real shame we're still in.

Does he or does he not have one foot down in bounds, goes up and catches the ball and comes down in bounds? He doesn't jump off both simultaneously The foot out of bounds is off the ground when the other is in bounds.
 
The ones who know the rules the best, and that is none of us, spent a lot of time looking at it and made their call.

The refs didn't cost UM the game. The Griz had 60 minutes of playing time to win or lose. The Griz lost.

I watch a lot of games at all levels and can tell you that I scratch my head on a lot of calls or no calls. I'm just glad that I am not the one making the calls. I have been an official in the past and can tell you that it is not easy at all. They do their best and get it right most of the time. Sure they miss some. It's all part of the game. The only ones who are right 100% of the time are the fans.

The expectations were so high for the Griz, that it was going to be nearly impossible to make everyone happy.
 
bottom line is the call was made..right wrong or indifferent. have you seen the replay of the Idaho score? another head scratcher....of a call.
