When is UM, Seth Bodnar, Kent Haslam, and the BOR wake up. Montana is going to be a footnote in college ball if they don't move up right now. IDC who we leave behind. Bring MSU along with if we have to. Otherwise, the University will be scheduling games with Central Washington, Western Oregon, Carroll College, but they won't be playing D1 ball anymore.

Look on the bright side of all this. We could join the frontier conference and still be the puff daddy of the league. We'd still win championships that everyone loves so much that don't mean anything outside of Montana same as now. FCS = Div II = NAIA to everyone else in the country. We could save enough scholarships to add mens hockey or we wrestling and compete in something at the real div I level, not the pretend one that is the FCS.

Why don’t we stay where we are. The FCS and its championship is well-known to many. I remember taking Bobby to the Ivy Football Dinner in NYC during Bobby’s first stint. Chris Berman was the MC. I intruded Bonny to Berman after the event. Berman immediately said: “Congratulations for getting to the championship game last season”.

UM is locked on small mindedness. No doubt about it at this point Griz fans we are DIVII or whatever it will be.
I can see a lot of programs folding up when pay day games against the Power conf go away and the Mid Conferences get those pay day games.

UM is relegated because of the financial hurdle.

I just don't see why people are getting bent out of shape over where we fit in the FCS-FBS model as it currently exists.

In a few short years, the entire thing could (more like probably will) completely crumble and look totally different, especially if the P4 leave the NCAA.

Sac state is in a huge Metropolitan area, I think the Pac12 would be a good fit for them. Not us.
Exactly. Nearly triple the student body of UM as well. We can compete with, and beat schools like this when they play at our level. I highly doubt the same would be true if schools like Sac suddenly were on the same level as UCLA, USC and Cal.

Realistically Davis would probably do as well or better at the FBS level. They have over 40,000 students and an endowment of two BILLION dollars.

You really should have introduced Bobby while you were at it.
