FCS Poll Guesses (Sept 22)

Kind of misleading. Although the Cats don't have many sacks yet this year they been getting good pressure on the QB. Against Mercyhurst, yes a weak team, they only allowed 20 rushing yds and that is with the 2nd and 3rd team playing the whole second half. I think the jury is still out on this Cat's team with the weak schedule so far. Starting this coming week the schedule starts getting a lot tougher. The Cats do have good depth and have been able to get the young players some good experience early on. As they get players back from injuries they will get stronger. The OL even with injuries has been lights out. Going to be an interesting year in the the BSC.
UM allowed minus 14 yards rushing for Morehead St. and started subbing in the 2d quarter. So there.

UM is giving up 107 yards on ground, for a 3.1 average. MSU allowing 99 and 3.8.

Griz lost on road to ND, which is ranked no. 9. Griz lost to a very good opponent in a very good conference.

New Mexico and Missouri St. are 136 and 137 in the Sagarin. ND is 111, one above Idaho.

UM is ranked no. 94 in Sagarin. MSU is ranked no. 102. UM is the first Big Sky team in the Sagarin and 4th FCS team. West Carolina is 157. Maine is 209.
Yup, no arguments here. Griz dropped a game against a good opponent… but they are not a team I’d consider top tier. Again I think the Griz are better than UND despite the outcome.

Just can’t expect to be ranked above another FCS program when you have a FCS loss and MSU has an FBS win.

I never liked going off SOS as I have been fooled before with it, however, there is no doubting we have had it easy. Is our SOS based on the entire season or only until this point. With Idaho, Sac, you guys and maybe UC Davis (although they have not been that impressive) I can’t imagine our SOS being so low, but I’ll definitely believe it as well if Utah Tech, Maine, Mercyhurst and some of the Big Sky bottom dwellers are such low outliers that they can drag it down so far
Funny how SOS never matters to cat fans when it’s not to their benefit.
They’ll be dropping in the poles soon enough, definitely don’t deserve to #3.

lol, you mean dropping in the polls (not poles) unless they are working at a volunteer fire department.

Whom is going to drop MSU? I could see Idaho and UM, but luckily have both at home. Guess we will see.

I wasn't trying to compare to UM. I think you guys have a very good team this year and have found a QB in Ah Yat, with a good second in Fife. That's why I said it will be an interesting year in the BSC.

I love it when a bubz tries to act smart. It just never works out for them. [hint: mark purposely misspelled it; it’s an inside joke so it’s you that looks like a dumbass].

Also, you have no idea how to use the word “whom”, do you.

Griz are better than the Cats too.

Yeah, I’m the dummy. Griz are unbeatable. Very impressive come from behind win over the #24 ranked fcs squad at home. Guessing you are all booked for your frisco trip again.

You think I’m being misleading? What is misleading about pointing out stats and the fact that bubz sack count is down?
That guy came here bragging about sack numbers from last year, but this year their sacks are way down, and as you admitted, they have been ”weak” teams and a “weak schedule”. You trying to spin it is misleading

Comes over to Big Brother’s forum, gets butt hurt over comments made towards the Bobcats and himself and wonders why people make fun of him 😂

lol, ok? I think it’s funny that some of you don’t understand how losing a game will drop you in national rankings. But I don’t really care about opinions of the circle jerk cult you all call Egriz.

Your current SOS of 252 out of 264 total teams is for teams you’ve played thus far. It will improve as you start playing better teams. But the next couple (Idaho St and Northenn Colorado) aren’t going to help much either. I hope that helps.

No one here thinks or said the Griz should be ranked over the Cats. I didn’t see that or I missed it.

The post I made said I think it’s strange that the griz can beat Moorhead St (a terrible team but ranked higher than Mercyhurst) 59-2 and blow the Spread out of the water….. it drop a spot in rankings. While the Cats don’t cover their spread against a worst opponent and stay or climb. I simply said make it make sense. I also used NDSU as an example…..they were gifted a win in the road vs an unranked team and they didn’t lose a spot. Again make it make sense.

Thank you. I’m just so darn busy with work and kiddos I don’t have much time to look into all the metrics, it was not a matter of ‘SOS being convenient and not convenient, I just prefer to inquire about certain questions here as I typically get logical responses. Honestly, if I get to watch some Montana Cat or Griz football on Saturdays I’m a happy man.

I get what you're saying, but I'll say what I said when AZ was asking the same questions.

Us dropping a spot had nothing to do with our performance. SIU was #9 right behind us at #8 and beat then #12 Incarnate Word, which pushed them up to #7. In hindsight, neither team was that good (SIU just lost to SEMO) which is why we're now back at #8.

MSU didn't move down because no one did anything to move ahead of them and bump them down.

I think it makes pretty easy sense, even if I don't personally think MSU has the resume of the #3 team right now, but you could argue no one really does, except maybe Idaho.
