NCAA.COM "McDowell is stuffing the stat sheet at McNeese and is already 1-0 in Southland play. If he can lead McNeese to a few upsets and make a run for the conference title, he could have a Payton-worthy résumé."

I don't know, man. From my perspective, when he faced adversity at Montana he rose up and thrived all the way to a national championship game. I've said it before and it will continue to be something I believe, that in 2023 the Grizzlies got knocked down and looked rough. Egriz was bashing them and the coaches. People were bitching about the NAU loss all over the place. That next Saturday, when the Montana Grizzlies were sorely in need of some swagger, Big Clif McDowell walked onto the football field. I will never stop appreciating what he brought to our team.

I know exactly what time frame I'm talking about. And I can only think of 2 better QBs since then. Johnson and Sneed.

I loved Sneed and McDowell. They have been my two favorite Griz QB's of the last decade or so, I'm with you. I also think that we don't remember Luc J and Cam as positively as we probably should, because both of their seasons ended in injury and we fizzled out. I still to this day think we had a good shot against JMU if Cam and Akem had been healthy.

Luc could have been really good but, yeah he was injury prone. And I never thought Cam was good. Was not a fan.

No hate here on that. Dude could definitely make his reads and put the team in position, though. I wonder if he had beaten JMU and gone on to face NDSU, how we would feel about him.

Not trying to argue, brother. Just something I have always wondered.

My thing with Cam was he just managed the game and wasn't super great at that. He wasn't an improviser or real good leader that could get guys really going. Like McDowell and Sneed had a fire that can feed a whole team and guys just rally around them. They are my kinda guys. I think Fife could eventually be like that but, his confidence isn't where it needs to be. Ah Yat is slowly working his way towards it though but, as of now he's more of a game manager too. But, he's just getting started and building some confidence too. He'll get it just not there yet.

Cam was the QB. He takes the blame when we lost, he gets the credit for that win.
