Consistency in the QB position

So did some research cause I was bored. How many QB's have the Griz started in the past 15 years? (Did not research this part). We always seem to bring in transfers to become our starters. We do however always sign 2-3 freshman QB's every year, but rarely with the exception of Ah Yat this season see those young QB's pan out and they always seem to switch positions. Which brings me to this.

NDSU in the last 15 years has only started 5 qb's, with 3 of them currently in the NFL. I feel that their consistencies is build around finding the right QB that will be in their system for the long term.

I would love for the Griz just to name Ah Yat the starter and Fife the backup to gain some continuity and consistency, while not having him worry about making mistakes and getting pulled.

Ah Yat has been the starter from the beginning and Fife the backup. It's not debatable, well maybe for some.

Why do think Ah Yat worries about mistakes and consistency?

Face value what I have observed, interception Fife in next series, fumble Fife in next series. Maybe it was just coincidence and the plan was to have Fife in for the next series no matter what happened, it just looked odd to my untrained eye I guess.
