SFA (Vidlak) vs McNeese St (McDowell)

It rules that we're still dragging this up lol

I've heard similar to Elrod (I know it sounds like a stretch) where he was to be welcomed back with certain conditions. He didn't ultimately like the conditions, so he decided to not return, and instead went to McNeese.

Either way, doesn't really matter anymore. IMO he's made McNeese a much better team than they were last season, though. Maybe we'll get lucky and he gets to come back in the playoffs this season lol.

I like our QBs that we have.

I do that at work all the time when a job comes up that seems like a hassle and I really don't want to deal with it. I give them number so high, that usually, they pass. If they do accept the conditions, then it is a nice little boost to my bottom line.

Yeah, in this case it certainly wasn't a high number lol

I saw bad plays by both QBs

Vidlak running out of bounds at the end of the first half to allow Clifton to throw a hail mary for 7 points lost them the game.

McDowell's high-stepping, excessive celebrations and poor sportsmanship cost his team during critical moments that could have easily lost the game.

I'm much happier with our QB situation.

I wish SFA would have won this game just based on McDowell's antics.
McNeese still had a timeout left...he stays inbounds they just call their last timeout.

You're right. I didn't mean to pick at the subject, I thought I was sticking up for him in response to the "cancer on a team" accusation, but I obviously didn't think that through before I included that part. That was my bad. Didn't mean to inflame old stuff.

I'll always appreciate Big Clif. People can say what they want, and its fine, but there was a day when the Montana Grizzlies were in desperate need of some swagger after a really tough loss. Then, that Saturday, Big Clif McDowell walked onto the field.

What was that RB’s name that looked good in BH’s first year back or maybe Stitt’s last? I believe he was a Stitt recruit and played as a freshman but then transferred? I want to say “Crawford”? Not Eastwood, before him.
I recall specifically discussing this exact issue (once somebody transfers, the team moves on immediately) with BH at a fundraiser and let’s just say your version of Clif’s departure would be a monumental change
Wasn't it Calhoun. He was the RB and his bro started at WR, then switched to DB to help out.

I didn't know you worked for the State!😧

Nah, definitely not calling you out here. It's more that it seems like a lot of people can't let it go and decide to just rip the kid (although some of it's probably justified). I was sad to see him go, and for depth's sake, I would've loved to have him back, but given the eventual circumstances, I don't blame him for going to McNeese, or the team from holding those circumstances over him. Will always be grateful for what he did for us last season.

Like I said, he seems to be playing well and has been a huge boon for McNeese, so it'll be interesting to watch him the rest of the year. I hope they make the playoffs, and I hope we get the chance to kick the crap out of them here in November or December.

Agreed. Wish them nothing but the best, unless we get to see them in the second round. We are in a good spot, and have a lot to look forward to. I'm excited to look forward, as I know you are.

Yes! Thank you. Calhoun the RB. Didn’t he transfer somewhere? If so, where?
According to this article, Bobby said that he didn't want to play anymore. Got into a fight, was suspended two games and then didn't see much of the field after that.

He went from Temple to Prairie View to McNeese.
True. McNeese State fans should know the complete, unvarnished truth of his 'commitments.' Show all of his suitcase stickers.
His travels are analogous to Blackwater 'employees' showing up at various sh*tholes around the world. Hmm, Blackwater morphed into many identities/functions over the years. Maybe they added college football players to their menu. Temple, Prairie View, and McNeese State football programs fit the description of potential clients.😂

It blows my mind how much some middle aged men care about the comings and goings of college students. Anyway, it was a fun game to watch and Cliff certainly earned the POW award. Love the edge he plays with - it fires up his teammates. He is a good leader. Vidlak looked pretty okay. Glad to see they are doing well. Happy with our QB room.
