It happenin

I also wouldn't be surprised if they try to get Gonzaga and another non-football school. Look for 8 football schools and 10 basketball schools.

If you think you would sell out WaGriz every week for a mediocre FBS team you are nuts. I can speak for my self no way would I keep mine to watch some .500 team play hoping someday to get to a toilet bowl. And currently can’t even out recruit MSU for players (just lost another yesterday and top 6 MT kids are already committed to MSU) try going head to head with those schools to stay competitive. Best facilities/home field in FCS and are not even close to being top recruiting school, hell not even best in the state. Look how Bobby did at UNLV and you will get the picture of what it would look like here.
Ah shit, fam! :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

I don’t put a lot of stock in the star rankings of the top 6 Montana recruits. 247 lists several of the 6 signees as 3 stars and also ranks 2026 players QB Jackson Presley (Boise St signee) and TE Matt Ludwig who has offers from almost every top 20 FCS team, as 3 stars. No way Grant Vigen or Cunrow are as good as either of those two.

Quick reminder that we have to have an invite to move up.

I imagine NMSU and UTEP are the MWC's first moves. After that, likely see if they can peel away any Texas school. Then maybe a Cali-based FCS. After that, maaaaaaybe they'd look to other Big Sky schools, but none of us have the media markets to be very attractive. Really hard to see how (financially) it would be justifiable to add TWO schools from such a small market as Montana.
Size of markets doesn't matter. Eyes on games matter. What cali fcs program is going to get ANYone to watch?

I'll take your tickets!!

I don't think GU basketball would see that as an upgrade. Too many built-in rivalries in their conference, as well as the Jesuit connection. They don't need a "better" conference to be a top program nationally.

If it can make them more money they will, and I think a new Pac whatever number with football money would do that.

Both matter, because traditional media and streaming are both things that still happen. The only Cali FCS that comes to mind as having a shot is Sac St, for the large media market's value to traditional media. Do I think they have a good shot? Not really, but I could certainly see the MWC convincing themselves they need to dip back into California with the loss of two Cali schools.

Believing that large markets in which no one watches or cares about the local program is what got the bsc into the situation they're currently in. Foolerton was so convinced that the Denver and Cali markets would save the league, when in fact it's been a disaster.

I'm not saying I, myself, would go that route. I'm saying I could see the MWC convincing themselves they need to regain some California eyeballs.

This! Absolute travesty if we have the opportunity and don’t take advantage.
What I don’t understand is this. Some people say oh I want to play for championships not in some mediocre bowl game. I got news for those people. The fcs title game IS a mediocre bowl game!!!! If you want a t shirt that says fcs champions on it I will make one for you and in essence it will be no different than the shirts that say liberty bowl champions, holiday bowl champions, Detroit motor city bowl champions, Sun bowl champions and the list goes on folks. I say it’s time to run with the bigger dogs and get out of a dying fcs.
