Big boy football....

Isn't running from shotgun or pistol on 4th and short!

We've been doing these b s formations on short yardage for how long now? The majority of time we FAIL from these weak formations! Time to man up and toughen up!

Time to use true power formations. Time to use designated power players. UND used a big qb for 1 qb sneak! Guess what it f'n worked. We have how man TEs and back up OLs. Let them boys lead the way for any of our HBs (preferably (Gilman).

Put the damn qb under center. Hell have our strongest back used just to sneak it! I honestly don't care who is used. Just no more weak formations!

Make these short yardage a true challenge for defenses. At worse, if defenses stop us, they earned it, without a bad play call helping them!

Let our big boys be TOUGH! Play like a mama GRIZ protecting her cubs! Damn it, we are GRIZ, let's play like GRIZ!

Speaking of manning up, how about allowing Gilman to be used like we used Lex, Chase, Justin, etc? That's what UND with there main back. He didn't have a average, but it wore down our defense!

Bobby's being beaten at old fashioned Bobby Ball!

While we are at it, use our big TEs tall Wrs, athletic WRs on long yardage 3rd and or 4th down with routes at, near, or beyond the yardage marker? Cute wr screens don't cut it, when there's not a man advantage, like we got against MO ST.
4th and short, screens are reasonable. 3rd and 4th and long, WTF????

Get big TEs and or WRs matched up on smaller DBs, or slower LBs and challenge them to beat their defender for the ball!

Again, if the defense stops it, they earned it! Point being call plays utilizing physical advantages certain players have, help our offense with play calls thar better our odds, not play calls that helps defenses more!

Oh, if our main defense is getting gashed, how about having 5-2, 4-4, 46 defenses to at least match up better with power running! We had the same issue a few years ago. In 2023 we had more defensive versatility and were pretty successful. This year, MO ST successfully passed on us, UND bullied our defense!

Apparently, our defense is soft and or highly predictable for opposing coaches to out scheme us!

Come on coaches, it's on you to better position the players to execute!

This is ridiculous lol both O and D sucked in the 2nd half.

That "gassed" defense in their final 2 drives held UND to field goals. They were fresh from halftime and let them grind out 2 TDs, including one where the QB dropped the snap. 3 personal fouls in those drives, including one on 3rd down that set them up on the goal line. Constantly out of position.

The Offense didn't get a first down until we were losing. Dumb mistakes (Xavier Harris catches the kickoff that's 100% going out of bounds, and we lose 17 yards of field position). Ah Yat gets sacked on a play where Ostmo had running room on the dumpoff and blockers in front by trying to do too much after the OL misreads the pressure (Panfiloff literally blocked no one while the late blitzer comes untouched). Then Cannon gets worked on a speed blitz and gives up another sack to end the series. Awful playcalling to end the final drive.

To me, the offensive stuff seems more fixable. Get these guys in sync and play to their strengths. Grossman and Bergan would help immensely. The defense might take a while to figure it out.

Add to the fact that the DB's spent a bunch of time chirping then watch as UND chewed up the clock and moved down the field....

Everybody chirps all game long on both sides of every college football game every weekend, including those UND WRs our DBs were chirping at.

I always get a kick out of people who demand high-intensity, inspired players to go 1,000mph on every play, but also "shut up and do your job". It doesn't work that way.

Don't disagree but sure didn't see a lot to be chirping about... Bottom line, lots to be fixed and looking forward to chirping this weekend when we are ahead!

Again, I don't think player chirp because they're winning. It's a very emotional game. Guys will chirp about winning a play, and they want the other guy to know it. Like CDA said, you either have that intensity, or you don't. I'll always want our guys to play with more intensity.

That defense is the stuff of nightmares... OUR nightmare.

I think they can get it together. Last year they looked a little inconsistent and lost for the first 4-5 games at times, but dialed it in over the final 6 weeks.
Man, I hope you're right. I am okay with the Offense. A lot of people are complaining, but they have put up almost thirty points. The defense has given up almost 60 points.
