Both QBs did well. Cannot knock Ah Yat for dropped passes that were right in the hands of the receivers. The only thing I knock Ah Yat for is ball security when he nearly lost it when he was being chased down by the two MO State defenders. Ah Yat knew that after the play and will need to work on it. We are in good hands with either QB!!!!

Watched it a couple times again and it looks like the ball hit his thigh while he was in the spin move…initially I thought the defender got a hand on it, but I think it was all on Ah Yat. He needs to develop some “variety” with his escape moves…that one’s gonna get him in trouble.

Fife did well, but people are being too hard on Ah Yat. We'd have had a good lead at halftime with fewer dropped throws and the dropped punt.

And a defense that could get off the field on 3rd and long.

Seems like Fife should start next week, and depending on how the game is going, Ah Yat should come in for the second half. Fife had a bit more swagger, and was less hesitant on his decision making. That's just more game experience than Ah Yat.

What I have noticed with Fontes is that he looks like he starts his upfield move before he actually catches the ball, needs to slow himself down.

Ah Yat is the guy that should be playing and it's not worth debating.

There is nothing any QB on the roster does better than KAY plus he has the intangibles you don't see from any QB we have had since Jordan Johnson

In person it seemed like Ah Yat has other levels. The ball just seems to come out of his hand differently and he’s going to make a throw here or there that no other quarterback maybe in the BSC will make. I expected good things from Fife and he’s a gamer. Impressed with both.

I’ve thought Fife should start since he transferred here. Ah Yat is a RS Freshman, it’s alright if he isn’t quite ready to take the reins. That’s how it looked to me last night.

I'm not entirely sure, but either way it was a big loss on the play and could have turned out really bad. (He also had at least one other costly sack. He needs to learn to get outside the pocket and throw the ball away.)

I'm not trashing AhYat. He's the best frosh Grizzly QB that I've seen, maybe ever. I just don't understand the people who are so dogmatic about who the best QB is, one way or the other. I think they're both good. IMO AhYat has the highest ceiling but also the lowest floor. Fife seems to be more the steady hand. We shall see.

I don’t know man. That throw to X clear across the field got there pretty freaking quick. And he runs with a purpose. I’m happy with either at this point.

I need to see more of both. Ky throws a damn pretty ball and doesn't seem afraid to sling it down field. I think he is going to be a star. Both ran the ball much better than I expected, with speed, and finished a couple of runs hard when they needed the yards. Fife seemed to be more in control and drew a very nice downfield TD. But....I also think it was a different game when he came in. The OL was starting to wear down the D line, the running game was way more productive, and the Griz D coaches were beginning to figure the Mo St passing attack. Hauck said he planned to give both a full half but the # of plays were so low he had Ky run the first series of the second. I would not be surprised to see Fife get the start at ND.

I actually think Fife throws with a little more zip that KAY. It seems to get to or on the receiver a little quicker. I’m impressed with both.

I would stick with Ah Yat. His ceiling is obviously much higher and the distance between he and Fife in terms of ability and execution is minimal. Not sure why so many are down on his performance.

I think most of it is his performance. Could be wrong.

I was honestly more impressed with Ah Yat's athleticism. But Fife looked like more of a team leader. I don't know how much it means...but Fife's post-game interview is exactly what you want to hear from a QB1. Humble, articulate, and eager to give credit to his teammates over himself. I think both will be better than McDowell.

I saw a lot of good. Lack of opportunities to get into a rhythm. His arm is live as are his feet. Growing pains are to be expected. I could be wrong, but I feel Ah Yat would have been fine if he stayed in. The coaches seemed to adjust their playcalling as they figured out MSU's defense. This was certainly to Fife's benefit. This staff has forgotten more than I know about football and wants to win a title. Their starter next week will speak volumes.
