Bison at Colorado Game Thread

Their Achilles heel this year will be that defense. Offense looked fine.
Ya, the pass defense might not have looked great against Sanders and those receivers..... but those are some NFL caliber players they were going up against. No FCS team is going to shred them through the air like that, IMO.

Colorado needs to run out the clock, they come out passing.
NDSU needs to SAVE clock and they're throwing short passes and runs. How much time did they waste having to get reset and spike the ball?
And why did the clock continue running for the last 15 seconds?
And WTF was that non-call on the targeting?

Lots to question about this one...suffice it to say both teams are probably fatally flawed...NDSU will do fine in regular season with pure talent, but won't make it to the NC (without some pretty dramatic improvement on D), and Colorado's D is an absolute sieve.
Spiking the ball saved time, and allowed them to call a play properly and give coaches time to think on play.

Yes, the clock guy screwed the Bison.

Targeting for sure. Would have been big and changed dynamics for calling plays at end. "

12th man: Refs totally saved Colorado from North Dakota State upset
The Colorado Buffaloes were in danger of an upset at the hands of the North Dakota State Bison on Thursday night. Then they got a little help from their friends in black and white. Aug 29, 2024 Follow Fansided It wouldn't be the start of a college football season if the Colorado Buffaloes weren't involved in a thrilling game with a dramatic ending. The Buffaloes survived a late surge from the North Dakota State Bison to win 31-26. Depending on who you ask, they had some help from a very

And the no-call on a very clear false start on Colorado on their last drive. That was awful.

I thought Bison looked terrific, except at safety. Battled the whole game. Didn't back down. No turnovers. Colorado is a pretty good team, except with the awesome qb.

Colorado is a bunch of gunslingers, yeah, good gunslingers, but TEAM PLAYERS? No way in hell! The last play illustrates this point. Five seconds left, NDSU down by five, ball in their own end of the field. Hail Mary time. Everybody, announcers coaches, fans, concession workers, ME in TV land gotta say, 'Knock the f'ing ball to the ground.' But, no, gotta get an interception 'FOR MY STATS SHEET AND LEGACY!' Result: completed pass, but five yards short of the win. Plenty of columns out there reading the same basic theme, the Buffs are all flash and promotion, no substance, just like Neon. Big 12 will pick their bones.
I'm not so sure anyone was trying to intercept the ball. When you're leaping high to each the ball, you don't have the ability to swing at the ball and bat it down. I can't reallyl tell from this video.

I just don't think he is a very good head coach...no hate.
He is by far the single best coach in college football even if he never wins a game.

What he does for the student athletes is unparalleled, what he does for the university is unheard of and he is great for the game. Thugs like you love to hate him because hes black but Deion has been winning at everything in spite of the hate, he did it at FSU, he did it in Atlanta, he won in San Francisco, he won in Dallas, he won in Atlanta, he won in NY, he won at Jackson State and he will win at Colorado, he already has. Keep hating, Deion doesn't care, about you, the media or anyones opinion. Deion only cares about his athletes, and preparing men for the world.

I like the guy. He does care about his players and wants them to succeed outside of football, but he's not the best coach in college football.

He may not be, but it seems like a lot of people get joy out of his failures. Let's say he's a horrible HC. Done. Now, why do so many get so jazzed up when/if he fails? I've never understood that.

Maybe it's because he continually tells us how awesome he is, but doesn't back it up? The schtick gets tiresome.

Griz receivers will...ndsu safeties were absolutely terrible...

I've never done edibles but I am glad they are legal in where ever you live.

"No substance"? Say what? He is without question the greatest defensive difference maker of his generation. The Dallas Cowboys won three Superbowls in a row until the 49er's bought Sanders and said to the Cowboys "okay now you don't get to throw to this half of the field." Result 49er's Superbowl win.

Learn your history or just go back to movie quotes.

Just a small nit: It was two in a row for Dallas, then they took a year off when the Niners won (with Deion), and then the Cowboys won the next year (with Deion). But point well-taken.

For me, it's nothing personal against Sanders. I just cannot respect any head coach who makes it all about himself. During pregame he was wearing a sweatshirt with an obnoxiously large "PRIME" on it. I guess he feels he's bigger and more important than the university.

Yeah, I guess that's just kind of the world in which we now live. I'm not a fan of his, and I wasn't when he played, either; I just don't actively root against him and get giddy when he fails (not saying you do, but some definitely do).

Agree fully.
