Missouri State Bears Scouting Report

GWBumleaoAAtgGr

Grossman not listed. Bergen listed. Wilson behind Kaho. Childs backing Tirrell. Barnum starting at one backer spot. Hayden at nose. Lehrmann at one d-end. Gordon OR Kluce at safety. Ford backing up Gradney. Klimzak at one guard. Gilman over Ostmo, no OR. OR at qb.

Good to see Deck back there with Bergen. Really hoping he has a breakout year. That receiving corps is so deep it’s been hard for those guys, but he and Sawyer have both found ways to have big impacts.

The 2 deep is always a bit of a ruse before the games. There is no way in hell that Grossman does not start on saturday. I say the score is a bit more open. Griz pull away and get a nice comfy win. 42-10.

Another great surprise on the depth chart is GRIZ Legacy kid Austin Buehler made it on the 2 deep roster at RT as a redshirt freshman. I thought this was awesome. The kid put on 30+ pounds in a year and he must be working hard. I remember his dad was a beast on the d line.

“Montana-Missouri connections

Missouri State has three players on its roster and three coaches on its staff with some sort of tie to Montana.
Safety Dylan Simmons was a reserve at UM in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He started six times and played in all 11 games for the Bears in 2023. He totaled 26 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and two pass breakups.
Running back Iverson Young was a redshirt at Montana as a freshman in 2023. He was the highest-rated recruit in Griz history.
Long snapper Landon Molen is from Great Falls and played at Great Falls High. He spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons at Snow College in Utah.
Second-year head coach Ryan Beard is a son-in-law of Montana native Bobby Petrino, who previously was the Missouri State head coach. Beard had been an assistant coach at Central Michigan under head coach Jim McElwain, a Missoula native.
Defensive coordinator/D-line coach L.D. Scott is also a son-in-law of Petrino.
Offensive coordinator/QB coach Nick Petrino is Bobby Petrino's son.”

So am I reading the two deep correct? Does it state that Fife will start? Or is that to throw everyone off?
one or the other....be nice to see both get a chance to shine. I hope one or the other separates themselves. If the two deep is accurate we are going to be even better than I thought on defense.

Petrino is a bit of a tool...not sure if they really want that tag or not when visiting Big Sky Country...

Looks like Bobby knew how to keep it in the family except when he was riding his motorcycle.

Edit: this was a reply to the article from hoops and the response by GT

Jesus. Did Petrino run out of son-in-laws? He goes but they keep his entire family?
