Analysis of MSU v. UNM Game on Saturday

Yes, but if they beat the Bubs, they will instantly become a team that would roll the entire BSC, and wouldn't have beaten the Bubs at RHS, and the Bubs didn't play well (which had nothing to do with the other team), and on, and on, and on.
Just like in their -- what was it -- five losses last year: If only they'd blocked better, tackled better, passed better, caught better, ran better, kicked better, coached better, sang esggcg better, and peed better in shitters with their mugs on them, they'd have won those games.

It’s wild how they just “didn’t play well” against every single good team they played.

Cats lost a lot of money today. We Griz who bet made a lot.
That is awesome, I'm glad you took my suggestion and bet on UNM to cover when the line opened at 4.5..... and then kept moving all the way to 13.5, yet you still kept saying you thought the Cats were going to lose. You were close with your prediction though, UNM almost pulled it off. However, they did not, and the Cats won. So, you're 0-1 on your predictions so far this season, but I know you will do better from here on out. Who are you picking in the MSU v Utah Tech game?

Hoops, I want to hear your analysis on fall camp practices. I didn't want to keep bothering you but, you always give a straight up and unbiased analysis of all the positions.

I didn't bet until the spread got high. I like to pick against the Cats, mainly because I know it irritates people like you. It doesn't matter to me if the Cats win or lose. While the Cats won and had a terrific comeback and 4th quarter, the Cats showed that they have a long way to go. UNM just gave away the game with 2 horrible 3d down drops. No other team on the schedule, even Utah Tech, will do that. The UNM linebackers played poorly, and some of the d-lineman too. If you want to crow about your win, go for it. But the weakness of the Cats, as of now, was clearly on display. The Griz, SDSU and NDSU would have crushed the Cats.

Nope, no need to crow about the win, but it was certainly a blast watching that comeback in Albuquerque! Definitely have several things to clean up, and need to get some starters back. Fortunately, that was the toughest test the Cats will have until probably Idaho, if even them IMO. Ya - you guys are all about saying UNM is the worst team in the FBS but we'll see. I bet they'll surprise some people, and they will win some games. As for the Cats getting lucky, UNM throwing the game away, etc... blah blah blah. Tommy Mellott had a couple freak plays\mistakes, that he just does not make - and he gave them fourteen points. He mentioned something about not being able to hold onto the ball due to wet hands. Seems strange, but I'll never question his intelligence. If you think he's going to turn the ball over multiple times like that in all the games, feel free to think what you want. I never did check the final stats but I'm guessing the Cats have close to 400 yards rushing, once again, and this was against an FBS team. They did that with three starting O Linemen out, two tackles making their first starts, starting RB and 3rd string RB out, no Sean Chambers, and very few designed running plays for Tommy. Do you think the Cats will have the best rushing attack in the country, again? Tommy also made some great throws, just needs to get more consistent. I think he will.

UNM is the 6th worst FBS team in Massey Ratings. Mellott's were freak plays. They were great rushes and great strips by UNM. Cats gave up 3 sacks, compared to 10? last season. As I have said, you o-linemen are not good at pass blocking, and that's why the Griz wouldn't want your o-line. What 3 starting o-linemen were out? No, I don't think the Cats will have the best rushing attack. If UNM had cleaned up the middle, MSU wouldn't have had 175 yards rushing.

You have so many excuses, most of which are silly. You team led for 10 seconds in the game. You got lucky. As I said, UM, SDSU and NSDU would have crushed the Cats yesterday.

Since when has that been an impediment for posting on eGriz? Chris make up some new rule? But, seriously, thanks for your restraint.🙊
I usually don't post on UM football unless I know or strongly believe that I know what I am talking about. I missed a few trips to Missoula, and then had one practice rained out. I thought I was going to a scrimmage at the stadium last night, but only saw a concert.

I am in the market for a new side-by-side and will be watching all of the Safeway parking lots for a good deal this week. Many bubs will have to sell their toys to make up for their ridiculous bets which drove this record line through the roof. Glad I waited for this purchase as there should be some great sales around the state this week.

😂 😆 😝
I’ve heard thousands of great excuses from bubs over the years and many more this weekend but this one might be the best one ever.
“Wet hands” lol
In 90+ degree heat.
Omg, you’re giving me a side ache
Yep, Tommy made a comment about not being able to get the sweat off his hands or the ball early on. He wasn't using it as an excuse, he owned the uncharacteristic mistakes of giving them fourteen points, giving them two scoop and scores. One on a fumble and one on a questionable pass where the ball slipped out of his hands and they ruled it a fumble. As a fan though, I can look at that and see that he did not have any of those issues later in the game when it cooled down, so I'll chalk it up to the slippery hands\ball being a real thing. Would be extremely rare to see something like that out of Tommy Mellott ever again.

UNM got lucky by even being in that game, with two fluke plays where Tommy gave them 14 points. So UNM scored 17 points on the Cats' defense. That's still way too many and I think many of the mistakes made on defense (blown coverages and Stupid PIs), will get cleaned up. Do you think the Cats rushing attack will be among the best in the country again? Better than the griz? What about the Cat and griz games next weekend, what are your predictions?

oh boy, not wet hands, but sweaty palms?
Ewww. Sounds even worse.
Thought a senior qb would not be so nervous. Guess he wasn’t ready for the big stage.
It’s a great nickname: Tommy sweaty palms
