Idaho State Regular Season Predictions

I sincerely doubt they have a winning record. The reason I give him the praise that I do is based entirely around him cresting such a quick hitting pass game that it was installed and giving teams fits so quickly. If he had actual talent, it may have been a damn fine offense.

Question: Did he "crest" (wink) a quick hitting pass game or did he simply go to the pass way more than everyone else because he had NO run game? Asking for a friend...

Sometimes you gotta pass to set up the run, amirite?

I really gotta quit using my phone to post........

And he absolutely threw it a ton because he had not other options. I just see a lot of coaches try to create that quick, slant based passing game that he did and really struggle to get the completions in like they did. Maybe he has more talent than I thought, but I was viewing their whole season as making chicken salad out of chicken shit.

When I read it, I thought, "He's definitely smarter than me because I've never used that verb in that context." I think it still works. He crested a quick-hitting pass game, meaning that he brought it to the top . . . of Holt Arena . . . OK, never mind. ☹️
Hahaha, man, for a half second I also tried to pretend I meant that. Like, it crested right as the season started.... and then broke like a wave on the rocks of the Montana Grizzlies defense. But that was a real stretch. Thanks for the assumptive credit, though!

There’s only so much lipstick he’s gonna be able to put on that pig.

ISU has added Dan Hawkins as a coach/analyst. It’s unknown if he will be traveling, to all games etc. but will definitely be involved in the day to day routine, game planning, etc.

Are they still practicing moon landings in Pocatello or did they finally concede the Moon was a step up? Hundreds of people with the same two last names running across the blasted rock surface yelling "take us with you!". Every real life simulation looking like the last days on the US embassy in Saigon; "Can't get the lander off the surface, too much weight." As the locals cling to the lunar landers legs clad only in LDS approved underwear.

Wow.. that was hilarious. I’m sure you’re a legend. In your own mind. 🚮🚮🚮☠️
Yeah, not going to lie, pretty pleased with my effort. It's easier when you have good material to work with.

I'd say making fun of Pocatello is low hanging fruit but that would imply that there was a tree within 100 miles of that town. ;)

Have you ever actually been to Pocatello?

Numerous times; U of M spring break we used to ski in SLC, once used my Dad's credit card to put a new fuel pump in a buddies POS when we were returning from the Big Sky Cross Country championships in SLC. I occasionally have a beer with a local guy who was a feature running back with the Bengals (that's my homage to Hoops).

Best thing to ever come out of Pocatello? I-15 ;)

Director of Player and Staff Development, making $19K. I'd say ISUs chances just improved.

Hate to say it but I have to disagree on NAU being the last winnable game. I think EWU is a winnable game.

I don't have the data to back me up, but I just don't think Best's teams necessary improve during the season like they did under Baldwin. Couple that with what is a contract year for Best and well... I just might be rooting for the Bengals depending on how the year plays out.

I honestly do not understand how isu gets ANY college aged kid to attend there. I truly don't.

Here's the thing: I want to like Pocatello. I think it's a fairly scenic area and I love the area between pokey and Idaho falls.

But it's the worst college town I've ever been in. I mean, it's bad. B. A. D. BAD. I understand the LDS influence. But there isn't a decent bar anywhere. In a college town!! They opened a brewery and I was so excited till I tried it and realized it was among the worst craft beer I've ever tasted. There are no good restaurants. None. The only places to eat are bad chain places.

worst college town in America.

You need to get out more, Everett.. I’ve been all over the US. ISU/Poky is 65-70% LDS. Who gives a crap about breweries/bars..? Many of us don’t. Restaurants? I’d put Poky restaurants up against most towns in Big Sky. Your Mexican and Asian spots in Missoula SUCK. and your overpriced restaurants are in some cases twice as expensive as Poky. Plenty of kids choose ISU over offers from other towns in Big Sky. Who cares if it’s not the most appealing destination on earth? Missoula and Bozeman and anywhere else in Big Sky sure as hell aren’t either.

All due respect, I get out a LOT, which is why I feel qualified and comfortable calling pokey a horrible college town.

As for who gives a crap about breweries and bars, uhhhh, every college kid I've ever met, and damn near every college football fan I've ever met.

Haven't tried Mexican food there; perhaps I should. Tried Thai Paradise once and would never go back (although I'm an extremely harsh critic when it comes to Thai food). But seriously, where's your best steak in town? Jakers? Sandpiper? Texas Roadhouse??

Cmon man. Comparing Pokey to Missoula is a joke.
