Who will be the starting quarterback for the GRIZ ? One pick and explanation why per user would be sufficent I would think.
Have to love the kids footwork and body positioning if it is consistent with how he flowed in and out of the pocket with his body squared upfield in the spring game. Should be a good battle for all three guys in fall camp.Ah Yat is probably the staffs favorite right now. I think or at least hope Huot gets his shot. If he does, I think he'll take over.
Big fan of Ah Yat and Huot, who looked great at the Spring Game, and if either of them win the competition then I will be very excited. Partly because I genuinely think Logan Fife has the tools to be a stud at the FCS level. Two years of eligibility, through the 2025 season. Minnesota wanted him to come in for their QB competition, so coaches at the FBS level thought highly of him. Part of the reason he changed his commitment to here was Jake Haener suggesting it would be a great fit for him. Including a few highlights, he has all the tools and I feel a weird Sneed comparison in some of what he does with keeping his head up on the run to find a guy in the chaos, and then also being willing to drop a shoulder for some tough yards. The 75 yard TD throw is a beauty in the Fox Sports highlight.

I see a LOT to like in him. He can ball, and I think he just needs time in the system to get comfortable. And as many have wanted, we have at least two years with our current QB room barring transfer (which is likely for one of them)
I'm optimistically hoping for a lot of Fife For Life merch in the future.
I think I like having one clear leader in the clubhouse. Great having depth but one clear leader to rally behind seems to be a key focal point of success...It's a great problem to have really. Keeps the competition going right through fall camp and the games. The three of them will all get playing time early on. It could be similar to last season
In my opinion it is hard to make any fair evaluation on Fife after just 10 days of Spring practice. But that being said I think Ah Yat is going to be special. If it is Ah Yat it is great to have someone ready to go with the experience of Fife.Unless if Fife made some tremendous improvement from what we saw in the spring it’ll clearly be Ah Yat.
And even if Fife does make some huge leap, I think it’ll still be Ah Yat.
In theory, Fife spent the summer getting familiar with the playabook, schematic changes that are new to him, language of the offense 9verbal and hand signals), reads, and nuances of a new offense. Asking someone to do that in the short amount of time he was here for spring is a LOT. I agree with you that he can't hope to figure it out during fall camp, but that is also what the summer is for.Ah Yat is a good QB heading into his second year with the same OC. That's a big deal and probably assures he's the starter for the first game.
Fife's playing time will depend on whether the picked up enough of what the Griz do in the spring to begin adding new things by late August.
Spring camp is the closest thing to a tryout. Lots of new faces, learning the playbook, no limit on participants. The second half of fall camp shouldn't be about educating potential starters about your offense, let alone the QB.
Last season's model may provide the framework...In theory, Fife spent the summer getting familiar with the playabook, schematic changes that are new to him, language of the offense 9verbal and hand signals), reads, and nuances of a new offense.
