Gubner Signs with KC Cheifs

According to Spotrac, the minimum salary for a player in the NFL is $795,000, though this figure tends to change based on experience.
The minimum for a rookie is $795,000, which increases to $915,000 for players with one year of experience and $985,000 for players with two years of experience.
Those who have been in the league for at least three seasons will make at least $1.055 million.

Since you started a new thread, I’ll move my response over here.

Thank you for sharing. That’s a good article but they screwed him on his coverage abilities by ignoring his interceptions 😉

All jokes aside, it looks like he got a second look at an exclusive camp which is huge. He put in a ton of work in his time here, and especially leading up to his pro day and the draft and then these camps. Happy for him and hope he makes the final roster. I keep thinking back to those videos shared before the championship of players listening to messages from their parents and just watching his reaction to his dad’s video still encapsulates so much of what all of griz nation thinks of Mr. Gubner, but that was special.

This is a big deal considering how hard and rare it is to get signed from a minicamp tryout. Not to mention the guy they cut to make room still had guaranteed money coming. Not only did he beat the odds minimal exposure but the political aspect also of the different contract levels. One of the main reasons minicamp guys don’t make it is cus the team has to cut someone they have more investment in.

Kansas City has a great player Jones, but is not overly strong after that, according to my 2 KC buddies who live there and go to games.
They spent a lot of $$$ on Chris Jones with new contract. Might be looking for younger good guys they can get on cheaper contracts to fill out that defensive front. The Chiefs do a great job of finding great complimentary players.

Congratulations to Gubs. Well-deserved. And what an amazing opportunity to learn from the game's best DT in Chris Jones and the best D Coordinator in football.

The only unfortunate part of this is that DT became a need after BJ Thompson went into cardiac arrest.
