Maybe… All of his college snaps have been at guard, and the staff is high on Brown at center. I am sure it will be a competition.
That said, he has 1 year of eligibility left. He was brought in to play immediately.
And if not start, be a guy who can back up multiple positions.
I have zero insider cool info here about the center position, and I have also heard that the staff is high on Brown at center. He knows the offense well, and he can be a big help to a newly starting qb if he can handle a lot of the line calls.
I have thoughts that this will allow them to move more people around and Klimczak takes their spot, or give him a shot at center. Either way, this allows the entire inside of the offensive line to be realigned and optimized, regardless of where people shake out. This is a PERFECT one year addition to interior oline depth and rotation, whether he starts or just plays a lot.
God, I'm happy about this. After starting against Notre Dame, I somehow feel like Weber isn't going to intimidate him....
Edit -- I just cannot believe I am saying this. But I love the results for us of the portal and I love how this staff is using the portal. I honestly thought they were bitterly against it early on and would act like dinosaurs, saying "we get our tough montana kids, and fuck the portal." Instead, somehow beyond belief, it feels like Bobby Hauck and this staff have been ahead of the curve and taking advantage of it every single year. God Bless The Montana Grizzlies.
