ESPN Matchups/Kickoff times announced tomorrow

Tomorrow ESPN is expected to announce the Big Sky matchups they’ll be televising and the kickoff times. History shows that they have always taken games against prime opponents in the month of October. So if I had to guess, here’s what games I think they’re gonna take:

October 12 Weber State @ Montana
October 19 Idaho @ Montana State

I think Idaho vs cats is an obvious choice. As far as us, there isn’t really a no brainer option since we don’t play Idaho or Sac State. Nov 9 against Davis makes sense, but that may be too late in the year for ESPN’s taste.

There’s also rumors circulating that’s supposedly the Big Sky re-negotiated their tv deal and was able to get even more games on ESPN2. How many more? Idk, but it’ll be interesting to see what we learn tomorrow. Also with tomorrow’s announcement, I suspect Scripps and SWX won’t be too far behind ESPN on their kickoff time announcements too. A lot more clarity should be coming tomorrow!

Said it before, so being the good sport I am i' ll say it one more time...

I've been a fan of the Montana Grizzlies football team since the first week of Sept. In 2003.

to make it perfectly clear, a portion but not all of this fan base that post over here could run by me screaming on fire and I wouldn't take my time to take a leak on most over here...

Interesting that SDSU plays both games for the MVFC. I get that they are the 2 time champs etc, but figured that they'd put 4 different teams in.

Over 3/4ths of the people who claim to be griz fans say the most vile, disgusting, and derogatory insults imaginable towards each other.

It seemed pretty obvious that ESPN was gonna take the Dakota Marker, cause that's easily the biggest rivalry in the FCS after the Brawl. ESPN can't take the Brawl because Root Sports had the rights to it in 21 and then Scripps negotiated for it in their package when they got the deal. Plus the Brawl is awfully late in the year when there's tons of big P5 games on. Therefore, that makes it easy for ESPN to get 4 Big Sky teams on tv every year.

As for the MVFC, The Dakota Marker is in Mid October so the timing for that is pretty good. This gives them the opportunity to show the Fargo Dome at full capacity, and then show SDSU at home at full capacity against USD. Plus those 3 teams are all preseason top 5, and nobody else is really worth a shit outside these 3.
