Now that Tim Hauck will have his footprint in our defense, will he use his many years of NFL coaching experience running the 4-3 base defense, which all of the top football teams in the NFL, FBS, and FCS use as their base defense, to sway his little brother, who never played college football, and who was never even a defensive coordinator at any level, into scrapping the gimmicky 3-3-5 defense? Asking for a friend.
Here is the definition of the 3-3-5 defense from a Google search:
"In American football, the 3–3–5 defense is a defensive alignment consisting of three down linemen, three linebackers, and five defensive backs. The 3–3–5 defense can also be referred to as the 3–3 stack or the spread defense. It is one form of the nickel defense".
So, we employ the nickel defense as our base defense. Think about that for awhile.
