Looks like the Zags got a beastly out of conference schedule.

Open the season with Stuckey, then have to play Texas, both Washington schools, Geogria, DUKE, Nevade and a very good Virgina team.

I dont see this Gonzaga team being like last years and might struggle early on but again should win their conference just because it is SO weak!

EDIT::

WOW, they put Stanford in the middle of their conference schedule and Memphis. Although those two teams are going to have down years, that is pretty bold to do in the middle of conference play

Wish the Griz would play half that schedule, instead of MSU-Northern

Gonzaga will not be at full strength until December when 2 of their highly touted tranfers are eligible. Then it will take a little time for them to mesh with their teammates. Watch for them to make their run the second half of the schedule.

Agree swill. I have no clue what to think about this year's team. So many questions and the toughest schedule in school history. If I had to guess, I'd say they lose five during OOC and two during conference.

just awful to see them do this a year too late. would've loved to see the hyper competitive morrison take on this schedule.

The fact Morrisson is gone is a good part of the reason some of these teams will schedule the Zags now.

hah, good call. It would be great to see a couple bigger schools for Strait's sr year.

I agree. I have been on my soapbox about former Griz Coaches not scheduling the Griz for years. We could and should have had games with Utah State, Old Dominion, Stanford, Colorado State, Michigan State, Wyoming, over the past 20 years from Heathcote, Brandenburg, Montgomerey, Morrill, and Taylor. If the Griz had got some of those it may have led to some others through coaching contacts, as many assistants at these programs went on to become head coaches elsewhere or took over the program at their school. IE, Tom Izzo at Michigan State :twocents:

If it's still listed in the b-ball forum, and one can still read it including new replies by clicking on it in the b-ball forum, what's the point of moving it?

I'm with you Swilly. I think talking about another local team who may or may not become a playoff opponent is something that happens on the fb board all the time.

UpWit is trying to help Chris get the board cleaned up is all, and is doing a great job.
