Zack will miss the season with a new break in the foot apparently. Crappy deal, was looking forward to seeing him play. Hope all goes well and he'll be ready to roll next year!

Cardinals OLB Zack Wagenmann out for season with fractured foot http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/13459684/zack-wagenmann-arizona-cardinals-miss-season -via SportsCenter http://bit.ly/zzSpRY

Actually if AZ really wants to keep him, they will release him and hope no one claims him off waivers. If this happens he reverts to the Cards IR for the season and not count against the 53 or PS. The odds of anyone claiming an unproven rookie that will miss the season are slim to none. To outright release him, they would then have to offer him an injury settlement once on IR.

What is it with our NFL players? Seems like most of them are always hurt. Mariani, Tripp, Wags..........

It's the NFL, don't have the number on hand, but I've seen the average career is pretty short due to injury. There's a few ironmen out there who get lucky and have long careers, but not many....

The last figure I saw a few years for average NFL career was 3.5 years. Don't recall where I saw it, though.

Just lousy tough happenings for Zach...here's to MUCH better days ahead for him and hope he really gets an opportunity to show what he is made of.
