Where did Tripp go? I don't know but 243 seems late... What is that? Late 7th round?

Jordan Tripp was drafted in the 5th round (171st overall).
Good attempt at a point, but you just don't get it........CV Griz Fan said:get'em_griz said:CV Griz Fan said:'68griz said:Anyone notice page 55 of the 4-20 issue of Sports Illustrated, where Zack is listed as the 243rd pick in the First 300 of the NFL draft ... and again on p. 94.

Thx. Earlier, I'd have thought that Wags would have gone in the same area as Tripp with the premium on edge pass rushers. Now, I don't know.... The NFL Draft is a crap shoot.....

Nothing against Wags, I'm guessing that's how the NFL will see it. Then when he gets his FA contract to a team that could really use him, he will begin to prove them all wrong.
He would be considered a project and alot of teams like to use they're 6th and 7th rd picks on projects. Sometimes those guys don't end up on teams that really need them though like they would if they would sign a FA deal. Sometimes FA deals get you in a better situation. Being drafted does get him more $ and credibility though.AZGrizFan said:alabamagrizzly said:Being that Tripp is a physical specimen at OLB and Wags is an undersized, weaker then avg, untested against "superior talent", with "less expierience" then most of the DE's; I'd be surprised to see him get drafted. 243 is 7th round. I could see that happening. I could also see your scenario play out exactly.
For those who do not get SI, here's how the information stacks up.alabamagrizzly said:Being that Tripp is a physical specimen at OLB and Wags is an undersized, weaker then avg, untested against "superior talent", with "less expierience" then most of the DE's; I'd be surprised to see him get drafted. Being compared to Kroy is not a bad thing, BTW. I too think Wags will do better not being drafted and getting picked up as a free agent. Natural growth -- he's still a young man, after all -- and the right training program should allow him to bulk up without losing his quickness and speed. And experience will only improve his football instincts and smarts.SI said:Pros: Gets in backfield relatively consistently. Excellent backside pursuit.
Cons: Strength is a concern.
