many of us on this board were twice jolted in 2006, first when krysko left, then when our demonic rival spirited away the guy i figured was our best assistant coach, brad huse. we were left holding the bag with wayne tinkle. oh, great guy, no question; legacy heritage, loyal to the school. but head coach material? there was no doubt about krysko, little about huse. but tinkle's prospects seemed about as solid as his nickname, "tinks."

flash forward to march 3, 2012. krysko's utes suffer a mind-boggling humiliation at oregon, while huse's team gets blown out just 90 miles north in portland. "tinks" meantime finishes the degree he never finished before, hires the defensive guru he needs, and recruits to montana five kids--selvig, qvale, johnson,cherry and jamar--among the best ever to play at montana. "tinks" is on the verge of his second trip to the big dance, and will likely be entertaining multiple offers and a huge contract from larger schools.

the while, both krysko and huse face grim coaching futures. i don't think krysko can recruit against his pac-12 rivals, and for huse it's a quetion not only of whether he can survive one more year, but if he's a head coach in any league.

You could easily place Selvig in the "most potential" of all time category. I know I had extremely high expectations for him. Unfortunately he has been the same player every year, which is pretty solid. It has been a pleasure watching him all four years.

i had some really good dim sum in philly a couple months ago, and also found a place that served the food of the ba people. mmmm tasty. alas, the dumpster i stayed in was overpriced and in a very bland alley.
