I think a move like this would be enough to keep Kobe happy for another year or so but I definitely don't think it makes the Lakers any better than the 4th-best team in the West. Sure, Garnett is a great player but he only averaged 3 more points than Odom last season and actually had less rebounds (and those numbers were with Garnett being the 1st, 2nd and 3rd option in Minnesota, surely not the case with #24 on the LA roster)

The move might sell some seats and get the Lakers homefield advantage in the first round of the playoffs but as it is, I still like the Spurs, Suns and Dallas rosters better. Maybe, if the Lakers picked up a good point guard...

The Lakers are pursuing a veteran point guard. Possibilities are/were Steve Blake, Mo Williams, Earl Boykins, and Jason Hart. Mike Bibby and Chauncey Billups could be possibilities as well considering they are free agents. But the Lakers have no chance at either as LA will be over the salary cap and wouldn't be able to afford the money that Bibby or Billups would surely ask for.

LA will not use their 1st round draft pick on a pg. They have Jordan Farmar as far as youth and they're keeping him. Don't expect to see Aaron McKie or Smush Parker back in LA next season.

I meant to mention Luther Head as a possible Lakers pg also. Actually, to this point, Head is the strongest possibility as a swap has been proposed. Head for Brian Cook.

I'll just shut up now! :liar:

Too bad this deal is dead. There were alot of scenerios floating around regarding KG to LA. A threeway with Boston seemed possible but Kevin Mchale and Danny Aigne would never do a deal that would make the Lakers a title contending team!

Lakers signed Dfish for 3 year 14 mill so that might be a step in the right direction but we still need another big. Crittenton will be a stud but not for another two and if a big change doesnt happen then KB24 will opt out in two years and my life will be over!

Won't you just cheer for him when he signs w/ chi or NY?

Laker fan first and foremost.

I hated shaq after we traded him. Its gotten better and the pain as gone away for the most part but I still feel little down whenever I think of the threepeat and what could of been...
